Hi everyone:

I just recently upgraded to 2016. In making forms with this version I see that all forms seem to be "docked" to a.....oh I am not too sure what to call it....a "ribbon" I guess and selected individually when open by way of a tab control.

This seems to work well when working with tables/queries but with forms this is super annoying.

Is there a way to Option Out of this so my forms are free floating when in design mode or form mode?

Thanks

Looks like i may have solved this by going to File, Options, Current Database, Document Window Options, and then selected Overlapping Windows. "Tabbed Documents" is then deselected.

I'm just learning this new version and finding my way.......

Thanks!

If this is new you must have upgraded from 2003 or earlier version. Having Tabbed Documents as the default for this property irritates many experienced Access developers! Besides the obvious, as you object to, many of the things we used to do in tweaking how Forms look...size...location...etc...simply don't work unless the property is set to "Overlapping Windows." The absolutely first thing I do, when creating a new file, is to make this change!
