Usual numpty out his depth needs help!

Sorry to bother u but I'm struggling to find what I need.

I have a database which by your standards would be fairly basic but has taken me months yo get nearly right.

I have only one table which is filled through a form with name dates and other info on. I have a general notes field that I would like to have some sort of running log - date/ time of customer contact and result etc . Is this doable?? If so are there any templates or guides that you could point me in the right direction??

Only one table that sound horribly un-normalised. You might want to read up on the subject and then rethink your table structure.

This tutorial may also help you get your head around the concept.

Perhaps one of the data models here will also help you with your table strucutre

Thanks for that, i accept what you are saying is right but it may be more difficult for me to change what ive done than it would be to create version 2.0!!

the image shows the form and what it does and what info i have - even with my ham fisted attempt would it still be possible to have a log with time/date and action of customer contact in th other info field? ie what they wanted when they phoned?

if not could you ( this is me begging!) tell me which fields should be on seperate tables so i can try!?!?! and sort it out properly?
