Hello,

I have an Access 2000 database with a Main Page that loads automatically.

I have now installed Access 2007.

The database loads and works fine, but ... I have no clue how to see the list of tables, queries, forms, ... in that database ... there doesn't seems to be a tab on the menu.

Am I overlooking something ?

Access 2007 uses the Navigation Pane for viewing/selecting the Tables, Queries, Forms, Reports, Macros, and Modules.

If you hit F11 the Navigation Pane should open, if it isn't already. You then can use the drop down on the top of it to select what you want to view. If you set the selection to OBJECT TYPE and ALL ACCESS OBJECTS then you will see the entire list of objects in the pane.

I'm sorry to say, but ... nothing happens when I hit F11 ...

Can you post a screenshot (upload it here, don't post to imageshack or places like that as I can't see those at work) so we can see what you're seeing?

Try this:
Office Button (Looks like a butterfly in the upper left corner)
Access options (at the bottom right of the Office Button menu)
Current Database (on the left menu of the Access options dialog)
Navigation
Display Navigation Pane (make sure it is checked)

Then restart the current database.

Here it is in the attachment.

BTW, this seems to be VERY buggy. If the navigation pane still doesn't show up, try the F11 thing, too. I've noticed this "feature" of Access has many odd behaviors.

If F11 won't bring up the Navigation pane then it is likely that the Use Access Special Keys checkbox in the Access Options > Current Database has been unchecked.

What happens if you hold the Shift Key down when you open the database?

OK ..; I found it : 'Display Navigation Pane' was not checked ...

Thank you all ...
