I'm adding data to a table, but when I go to look at it, I can't see it!
On delving deeper I find one needs to expand the line height, and it looks like its added something using up a line before the start of text.
The text starts with chr$(40) so I would expect to see that.
Then each LF char (or CRLF) is executed, rather than showing as a wee back graphic. I suspect this is a change to newer Access versions.
Can I change this behaviour so the data can be seen as expected.
I thought making a query on the table might help, but it's just the same.

Thanks.

I have sorted the extra line. But would still like to know if vbcr (or vblf) can display like it did in Access 2003 (I think) where it was a little black square.

Just as a guess, in design mode for that textbox, see the format property .FormatText, which is either Plain text or Rich text. If it is Rich text, change it to Plain text. (If numeric, change it from 1 to 0.)

It was on "plain text". I don;t see any numeric option.
I'm thinking maybe I should replace all CRs with something else.

Copy the text and check it for hidden characters with an online tool like this one:-

What is your goal here? To change how it displays in a textbox on a form? a textbox on a report? Or the Table itself, when opened in datasheet mode?

What is a wee back graphic?

In earlier versions of Access a wee black blob was substituted for a CR or LF character when viewing a table. Now the action is performed and the height of the table row must be expanded. If it's now a setting somewhere, I haven't found it yet.

Some fonts still do that. Others allow the CR/LF to function.
