Hi everyone, as you can see from my last post I'm new so lots of learning to do, I've tried to learn with Professor Teaches Access ect but I'm a little confused of what it is I require, A little insite of my requirements, currently my role involves carrying-out site inspections and providing advice and documentation, in the passed I've walked around the site filling the forms out on paper then typing them up, but this doubles my workload so I've bought a HP TX2 Tablet PCto make things a bit easier, below is a list of things I needto do but havn't got a clue where to start.

I would like to set it up so when I carry-out my inspection I can fill out the form and it will have drop down boxes of generic answers plus be able to type in new text, if I imput a building name ect I will only have to put the first letter in and then it will show me a list of previous inputs, any issues I find I'm able to print out a report at the end of the month, if I put a no into a section then it creates a section at the bottom of the report to highlight the issue.

Is it access I require or am I wasting my time?

Access is a tool for storing records from information entered in forms. Sounds just like what you are doing.

Start with the basics. First you need to understand how to structure your data into tables. Before you begin make sure you understand the concepts of normalisation and relating the keys in tables.

Welcome to Access.
