Why do I lose the ability to see my Access Objects?

Hi,

I have a dashboard form that is open when I open the database.

Usually I can slide a vertical bar at the left of the screen to view my Access Objects, such as Tables, Queries, etc. It says "Navigation Pane" there.

Every now and then I lose the ability to open this. The vertical bar just disappears. No idea why. I always have to go and retrieve a backup of the database as I have never been able to figure out how to access my Access Objects again.

How can I get the vertical bar back?
