Workgroup DB

My company just upgraded to Office 2000 xp. Now when I try to make changes to queries, forms, reports or macros, I get a message saying that I do not have exclusive access to the DB and cannot save any changes. Our DB is shared by 7 users over our company network.

Access 97 allowed me to make changes. Is this something new for Access 2000?
