This got started in one of the "real" threads, figured I'd move the conversation here - since it is Friday.:D

Whatcha drinkin'?

Personally, I prefer IPA made by several different Michigan breweries.
DogfishHead 90 Minute (9.5% ABV) or HopSlam by Bells are the current faves.

If I'm going for the hard stuff - it's Glennfidich 18 Year

Being one of few small town kids who actually didn't drink hardly at all before turning the legal age, I haven't had too much of a chance to get in to the "adult beverage" side of things. For me, nothing beats an ice cold Dr. Pepper. However, for the adult beverage side I typically enjoy a Bud Light or Boulevard Wheat for beer, and Captain & Coke for mixed.

Yeah, I'm a bit of a newbie to the whole scene, but I figure I've got a few years ahead to find some new favs. Any recommendations?

My opinion... Microbrews kick the ass of anything made by BuschMillerCoors, but then again, I'm a beer-snob.

I'd have to think Omaha has a few steakhouses that brew their own beer. A steak with a good ale...

It's true, there are a few around here I could probably scope out...just gotta scrape up some money...stupid college ;)

I guess a buddy of mine brews his own varieties beer, and some of what I've had is pretty good. I guess I could try brewing myself as well...

a cold Becks does the trick for me -
followed by San Migeul (?)

then on to the loopie juice - southern comfort

I drink beer but am no expert and annoy beer snobs over here by liking continental beers, not lagers, I also enjoyed some Texan beers when there but cannot remember the names.

I drink wine mostly but am not a snob or expert and drink most though not too keen on Chardonnay tho' had a pleasant Chardonnay/Viognier the other day.

Drink malt whisky
Macallan , Glennfidich, and Edradour for normal
Talisker and Laphroig for post dinner the latter after heavy/spiced meals,
but willing to try any anybody buys me :D

Had a single malt tasting at my local the other night. All were good, some were excellent. I especially liked one called "Sheep Dip"
Great Scotch but the marketing dept. had to do something about the name.

Not really big on alcohol but occassionally I do like an Amarulla Cream. Made from the Marulla fruit, even the animals in SWA like it :D

In a pub a nice pint of Bitter. At home a glass or two of wine usually white but not Chardonnay by choice.

currently, margarita (sauza gold plz!) with corona chaser.
hoegaarden white or if i can find it, franziskaner.

dont' seem to make enough time for it anymore ...

I just LOVE bière d'epinette and bière de bouleau (spruce beer also birch beer) it is really thirst quenching in the summer. Best brand in the world of both is Marco which is made in Laval Quebec Canada,

there are other more commercial companies making it with artificial flavours but the artificial ones just tast like a watery soda drink. It is ZERO alcohol by the way.
