FDR won both the 1932 and 1936 Presidential elections, and had he been a statesman,
he would have gone back to upstate New York, done something useful, accumulated
wealth, and played slap and tickle with Eleanore. He took a second look at Eleanore,
figured he would have more fun romancing Trigger, knew nothing about accumulating
wealth as demonstrated by his pathetic handling of the economy, and realized he
didn't know a damn thing about being useful. Vowing to remain in Washington and play
slap and tickle with Lucy Mercer, he ran for an unprecedented third term in 1940,
which he won. On December 7, 1941 the Japanese decided reducing pre WWI Battleships
to scrap metal in Pearl Harbor was a master stroke of strategy and on December 8,
FDR declared war on the Japs. The same day, Hitler figured that he could beat a
raving socialist who married the wrong cousin (Eleanore was Cousin B). America was
in the second war with the Bleeding European Idiots.

Roosevelt didn't know a damn thing about the military or fighting a war so, imbecile
that he was, he turned to Winston Churchill for advice. Winnie had been First Lord
of the Admiralty in WWI. In that conflict Churchill's sole contribution was the
battle of Ypres in which he launched an amphibious invasion against the Turkish
Coast against impossible terraine with understrength assault forces who had no
intelligence regarding the defenders, the geography of the landing area, or
knowledge of German Naval Forces North of the landing area. Around 400 Turks threw
the Limeys back into the drink and England had her worst defeat of the war.

Winnie's advice to FDR was that the Allies attack "The Soft Underbelly of Europe"
and not try a cross channel invasion into France since that would be going right
into the teeth of the Nazi stronghold. The Soft Underbelly? Why, Winnie thought we
ought to invade Italy!

Just looked it up. So he's a chat show host. . . . . . . . . problem?

Rush Hudson Limbaugh III (born January 12, 1951 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri) is an American radio talk show host. A commentator with a conservative point of view, he discusses politics and current events on his show, The Rush Limbaugh Show. His show was first nationally syndicated in August 1988, and as of 2005 (according to Arbitron ratings surveys) its audience was estimated at between 14 and 20 million listeners per week, making it the largest radio talk show audience in the United States

Look up a book "Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Lyer" by Al Frankin

Good start to understanding the brain washing of middle class America.

So it seems this Al Franken is a comedian, and has written a book discrediting some claims by this Rush geezer, which may or may not be true - a comedian writing a book?. . . . . . possible I suppose

20million USA citizens tune into this Rush geezers show each week thats almost 7% of the population - I can't see what the problem is.

How many USA citizens are brainwashed by religious evengelistic nutters or the government propoganda etc etc. Compared to that, this geezer Rush is an amateur.

I'm sorry Josie, I'm missing something here. . . . . . . .if this geezer Rush is spouting all sorts of inaccurate stuff, why does he pull in 20million listeners per week?

It may not be they actually believe it - it could be they can't believe it and wonder what other rubbish (garbage) he can come out with, so tune in out of interest.

Changing the subject for a sec here.

You keep refering to him as geezer.

What year were you born? Cause Rush is only 9 years older than me and I dont consider myself a geezer yet.

I don't think geezers have a specific age in the UK.
How old do you have to be to be a geezer in the US?

Generally a 'geezer' refers to someone who is elderly, and is usually ornary or decrepit. Limbaugh is 55, so he's considered more middle-aged.

BTW, I do think that 99% of the people who listen to him believe what he says. There's a billboard somewhere in this city that advertises a conservative radio station. All it says is the frequency and in giant letters, " LIBERALS HATE IT!". Such is life in U.S. at the moment...

a "geezer" in the UK is a "bloke", "man", "male" who is older than teenage.

So you could say "this 21 year old geezer said to me. . . . ."

Enough about age, thank you clearingthat up.

Rush and his lies, brainwashing , and overall pide piping, have recruted millions of people to the moral majority party.

And they are so stupid as to belive that the republicans have their best interest at heart.

Anyway Rush was one of the spear heads for the movement in the early 90s.

But who give a shit if the American automobile industry moves 65,000 jobs to China, we are debating the abortion laws again.

And now there are a firm (infirm?) majority of conservatives in the Supreme
Court, which is much more insidious than the Presidency, or the Congress because only 9 of them dictate interpretation of the constitution for a life appointment.
