Daniel Pineault - Devhut

Now you're being absurdly optimistic!

I think we should not waste time speculating on the reasons why Daniel has took such action or question is judgement. I would rather spend time thanking him for his generous and aspirational work in recognizing that the quality of code and explanation which he shared with the Access community is was far superior to most. If he chooses not to continue with Access which would be a disappointment to many including myself his position and recognition within the Access community will never be forgotten..

@Jon Let me know if you want me to connect the two of you.
Its low on the priority list at the moment. Had a break-in yesterday amongst other things, so have little time right now.

Most interesting thing for me is to find out what the timer is all about!

Any other theory's?

For those of you referring to "Dan". In any interactions I've ever had with him, he referred to himself as "Daniel", never "Dan".

He may have just moved its content somewhere else, but he kept the domain. Who knows, maybe it'll be accessible soon again.
I spoke with him. It's gone.

Don't give it another thought. Daniel is not interested. He was quite clear.

I've been clearing out my parents house for over 5 years now. Hard to believe, I know. For example, 2,500 books to the charity shop so far. At say 50 books per trip, that is 50 trips just for those alone!

I can understand why a professional would not necessarily want to leave his code legacy as a free resource.

That explains the new YouTube video...to all you who sent emails to him, thank you.

Perhaps all who use his site regularly could, at the very least, leave a message of thanks on his latest web page if you haven't already done so.
There is also the option to make a donation.

I just posted something to this effect in the WC...
