Can't filter output dates from DateSerial

I'm back again about this. It's bothering me that I can't figure out why this didn't work. I tested querying dateserial results with something simple - still can't search it properly. I've attached a super super simple example that does the same thing as my other one did. The attached database...

Can't filter output dates from DateSerial

I think I'm just going to suggest to my supervisor that we just purchase EndNote. Spending time trying to reinvent something that is already out there probably isn't the best use of my time. I still don't know that switching to Dmin will do what I want. I was just hoping for an answer on...

Can't filter output dates from DateSerial

I'm confused as to what Dmin will do for this if I am looking for null values? I'm very rusty at all this. And I wanted to clarify again, my FullDate result looks right. (?) It looks like a date and the dateserial seemed to work correctly to give the right values. I just can't then further...

Can't filter output dates from DateSerial

Actually, looking at your query, I don't know if that will do what I need. I need it to give a bad date if either month or year are missing, but this way, won't it just look like 1/1/2014 if I had a publication year of 2014 but no month listed? Here's a screenshot of where I have message boxes...

Can't filter output dates from DateSerial

I have a habit of making things too complicated. That query makes much more sense. In regards to the dateserial function, the year number used as an input is always yyyy (PubYear is a full 4 digit year). It's just when I try to query the resulting date that I can't seem to get correct numbers.

Can't filter output dates from DateSerial

Background info for the database: I am working on a database tracking publications. Years will always be listed for the journal articles, and months should be. Days, on the other hand, are listed for some, but not for others. I kept year, month and day as separate fields because I don't want to...

#Name? Suddenly Showing in ALL Calculated Fields

This just happened to me also. Even the simplest calculations (writing a formatted name if not null) all became "#Name?." After redoing the textboxes, compacting and repairing, and restarting my computer, I finally just reselected the same query from the form's recordsource and it started...

Problem with form labels after computer upgrade

Through the navigation window it opens fine. ? I don't know if there's something in my OnClick event to open the form that isn't translating correctly to Access 2010. I have 5 databases, and it's happening on multiple forms. I've attached the empty simpler database of the bunch. Just click...

Problem with form labels after computer upgrade

I changed my file to an image and compressed it so I could upload it. Sorry for the poor image quality.

Problem with form labels after computer upgrade

We just had to upgrade our computers to Windows 7. I was working in XP on Access 2007. I am now on Windows 7 and using Access 2010. I used macros a lot when creating these. I know that's not the preferred way to do it, but I was trying to teach myself. I have list forms with "Open" buttons...

Question How to open Ms access 2010 database in ms access 2007

I was having this same problem for a while, and figured out that they were Access 2010 encryption issues. There were no problems with my actual database. To fix it, I had to open a new 2010 database and import all my objects, and save. Then it opened in 2007 just fine. Unfortunately, this became...

    Error when saving new record

If I download the copy I posted and open it, everything is there? The macros are in the form ParentInfo under the Appointments and Hospitalization tabs (the working one is in the Care Plan tab). If you view the properties of the 'Open' text box, it's under the "On Click' events as an embedded...

    Error when saving new record

I tried to teach myself Access to take on a few projects that ended up being more complicated than expected. I have a patient database I've been working on, and I've gotten past most of the major problems but now I'm stuck on something that's probably simple. I have been staring at this thing so...

    combo boxes... again

I am completely self-taught and new to Access, so please bear with me. I've probably made a lot of it more complicated than it needs to be. I am putting together a database that's become a little more complicated than I was expecting. It's a patient database, where when you add a patient, you...
