Question type mismatch error (1 Viewer)

Hi everyone,
I got an error when I try to import or to link an excel file to my database : "type mismatch". can you help me please.
thx for your help.



P.S. I'm not doing programmation or something special (an empty database --> import --> excel file --> type mismatch error)

Only thing I could think of is that the excel file you are importing has defined types in it and access has a different type defined for that particular column, which could cause a type mismatch. I don't think this normally would stop it from importing it and just saying that it didn't import some of the values due to type mismatch, but its just a thought.

You could try the following:
1. Go into the excel file and declare all of the columns as type text, then try importing again.
2. Save the excel file as a .txt file and import the .txt file. You can customize the importing a bit more with a text file because the "Advanced" option is available in the import window.
