Combo box gray out after losing focus (1 Viewer)

I never seen this effect before. There is no code behind it or anything.
I have a combo box on a split form. I get the focus when i click on the combo box but when i click on a different control the combo box turn gray. Is in effect of a split form. Anyone able to explain this behavior.

This was a bug that came with version 2007. The cbo is actually becoming transparent and so the underlying color of the form is showing thru.

A workaround Allen Browne gives is to set the AlternateBackColor property of (Detail?) Section to something other than "No Color", e.g. #80000027.

The definitive answer is to install the SP2 service pack:
