TV

- the west wing - maybe the best-written show ever. stick with it and be amazed. one of the best ensembles (cast) you'll ever see.
- 6 feet under - maybe the best drama
-----------------------------------------
- boston legal - legal/comedy
- the shield - cops
- mi5/spooks - spy (give it time; very good and gets better; thank you BBC)
- 24 - spy (usurped by spooks imho)
- battlestar galactica (give it time; surprisingly good with only a few dud episodes)
- deadwood - old west in america - drama; fantastic actors.
- weeds - need i say more :)
-----------------------------------------
other:
- huff - killed off too soon (2 seasons?).
- sleeper cell - has its moments.
- the wire - slow but interesting.
-----------------------------------------
- yep, dexter be good.
-----------------------------------------

you can rent (in some places) most tv shows now. do it to avoid commercials, save time, and watch in chron order

======================================================================================

Movies (in no part. order)

- the green mile
- forest gump
- catch me if you can
- the gods must be crazy
- matrix (1)
- crash
- v for vendetta
- employee of the month (matt dillon, steve zahn, et al)
- syriana

Maybe I'm not thinking of the same movie, but wasn't this one "Planes, Trains and Automobiles"?

As for TV shows, I'm content with Wheel of Fortune, and game shows in general, but primarily wheel of fortune. Family Guy was good for a laugh for awhile, but kinda seems like they may be running low on material. I guess wait until the new pres. is in, either of them, and they'll pry have enough for a full season...along with every other comedian out there...

I still think "The Road Warrior" was the greatest movie ever.
King Arthur w/Clive Owen and Kiera Knightley was good, too.

The only TV shows I watch consistantly are
Lost
Cops
Antiques Roadshow

Both get beat by The Holy Grail

/Help, Help, I'm being repressed!

I think I have to be in the mood to watch The Holy Grail. I think I have seen it once. There was another movie that came out, that was something like that, but I can't remember what its was called.

I had not hear that about Monk. It rates as #2 on my list behind Dexter, so I hope not. I will have to check.

Sadly Monk is relegated to daytime TV here:(

Is that because you watch it as it is broadcast, or do they syndicate it as a daytime show ?

UPDATE:

I think that I figured it out. 9:00 PM here is probably 2:00 AM in England (or is it 3:00?), so they must rebroadcast, or not very many people would be up to see it, right? I wonder why they rebroadcast in the day as opposed to early evening? Oh well, there's always DVR, Tivo, or a VCR of some type.

I suspect that it's just sold to network here and they decide when to show it, since I rarely watch daytime tv I don't even know if it's still on, great shame I quite enjoyed it
