Hi,

I'm facing this problem whenever I try to click on any button on my access system. I get the following error message:

"" The expression on Click you entered as the event
property setting producedthe following error:

A problem occurred while Microsoft Office Access was
communicating with the OLE server or ActiveX Control.

* The expression may not result in the name of a macro, the name of a user
defined function, or [Event Procedure].

* There may have been an error evaluating the function, event or macro.
""

Note that the system works fine on another machine, but not on my computer!

any help will be very much appreciated!

Check the references, you may find that on your machine there is a reference missing.

Go into the code behind one of your forms. Select Tools and References from the menu bar at the top of the screen.

There will be a long list of items with tick-boxes next to them. The ones which are ticked will be at the top of the list. If a reference is missing it will be ticked and say the name of the reference and the word 'missing' will be in capital letters next to it.

i.e. Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects 2.5 Library MISSING

All you need to do it untick the missing reference and select an earlier version of the reference i.e. Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects 2.1 Library.

If there isn't a missing reference are the 2 computers that you have tried the database on using the same operating system?
