We just recently converted from Office 2000 to Office 2010. A program written in Access by a former employee worked well in the previous version but now prints out (previews this way too) an extra page at the very end. If my report is 6 pages long, I get 7 pages. The last page only has the header and footer. Header includes Page x of xx.
I've monkeyed around with page widths and lengths and tightened them all up. I have no extraneous blank area in the design view of the report.
HELP! This is mystifying our IT department as well.

First up - what is the current width of the report?
Second, what is the margins of the report?
Third, what size paper are you using?
Fourth, have you looked to see if there is a FORCE NEW PAGE set in any of the headers or footers?

Width: 13
Margins: .25" all around
Paper size: 8.5 x 14
The report is based on cost codes. When the cost code changes, a new page is started. Yes, there is FORCE NEW PAGE set at the Footer for the Detail, no other location. I tried to change this by indicating NO but then the cost code detail merged together; still giving me the blank extra page.

There is no footer for the Detail section. Are you sure it isn't a footer for the Cost Code? The only other footer, other than a group footer, that has the force new page property would be the report footer.

Okay, so is the Force New Page set to AFTER SECTION?

Well, I am not sure what could be up. It sounds like everything is set right but something must not be. So, any chance of getting a look at the database itself (with bogus data, of course) so we can see if there is something I just haven't thought of?

I can ask. I'm not sure how to do that to get all the info you will need. Lots of tables to incorporate. Thanks for your attention. Let me see what I can do to get you a 'bogus' copy.

Well, we could start with just an empty database copy and see if that is sufficient.

It would be interesting to see the report. If the record source if based on several queries, run a MAKE TABLE query on it and provide us with that table, the rpeort and some bogus data.

this seems to be a known issue with 2010.

Very helpfully they say they are working on it but don't know if or when a fix will be available!

Quite an enlightening thread! Thanks for sending me the link. I think I'll try another 'bandaid' until MS fixes it.
