Yes these are certainly potential problems with any automated rename.

Another that I suspect is very common is copying an object than renaming the original as a "backup" with NAC on. NAC is on by default and it can catch developers unaware of its behaviour.

I was once caught out by this. I thought it was good practice to rename objects with a " Z " as a prefix rather than deleting them. Just in case I wanted it back. These days I backup the entire file then delete or change the original.

I learnt the hard way.
 
Like most things in Access what really counts is a understanding how things work (or don't work as the case may be).

Too often, even some highly experienced developers spout "rules" they have read somewhere or paranoia based on their interpretation of a long past event where something went down that they didn't really understand.
