getting relationship error when i try to change datatype.

I'm in datasheet design view and I'm trying to change the data type of a cell and add a lookup. When I try to change the datatype I get an error which says I need to remove a relationship first - except I did. I deleted all the relationships, saved and closed the relationship view and closed and reopened the table. What am I doing wrong?

I've had this , it drove me nuts. I think its a glitch. What worked in the end was: after deleting the relationships, which you've done, renaming the table with say an 'x' before its name for backup purposes, then copying and pasting it as a copy and giving it the original name.

excellent - thanks! I've looked into it a bit more and it seems using lookup fields in tables is bad style - maybe this is one reason why?

Maybe it slows down the indexing.

That is useful information. I have been using lookup fields in my tables, i will now stop and just use them in my forms.
