So true ... it's collaboration. As I believe George said once recently, you have to be the Adult in the room. If you use ChatGPT for long enough, you can almost 'smell' when it is making something up, like a 6th sense. And best of all, if you know something about the subject matter, you know enough to supervise the AI. It's a matter of supervision. I also notice that the AI wants to compliment me, which means I avoid asking questions like:
"I think this is a good idea. Do you?"
... because it will invariably tell me I am a genius and it is very good idea.
Instead I ask it to compare things (it does well at comparisons), and I never tell it what I think until we're deep into the material and it's sort of proven itself to some extent and I know it's not drunk or sleepy at the moment.
ChatGPT does have a good sense of humor, though - and I deeply appreciate that, it makes it approachable and means I can interact with it in my own personality, kind of
