I know that some of you follow religious holidays, and my wife does too. She has chosen to give up meat (pork, beef, chicken) on Fridays. That means that I had to have a seafood dish for supper. For those who follow Lent, what have you chosen to give up, including whether it is the entire season or only a particular day?

By the way, tonight's supper was crawfish & shrimp pies. Like in the Cajun song: "Jambalaya, crawfish pie, file' gumbo, for tonight I will see my cheramie-o"...

I haven't officially given anything up for Lent, although I respect greatly the people who do. The key is to choose something that will hurt. Something you will constantly notice - and in the place of that satisfaction, (they say), spiritual alertness tends to take its place, if you're at least halfway focused on making it so. Very very much like fasting. But fasting is SO real, man! Fasting produces hunger, and in the place of the hunger if you'll devote a bit of spiritual/introspective/deep thought (whatever your preference is, doesn't have to be religious), many great things can come of it. Not to mention a few pounds lost, maybe!

I was thinking for the rest of Lent to give up Monsters. For me personally it makes sense, tho it may not make sense to anyone reading it.

I tried that last year. My D&D players just could NOT get into a game facing optimized humans! 😁😁😁
