IPOD or MP3 ????????

To signal the chauffer that you're almost home ??

He'd just have to stick his head out of the window to hear the boy racers with their bloody boom boxes nowadays:mad:

Joe, why not go for the all in one solution :

Overhead video monitor with built-in DVD player

What would they use, Ipod or MP3 ?

True, true - plus that's why they are using IPODS/MP3 Players as they can carry them easier than lugging around a car stereo with a very LONG extension cable.

What's the FM transmitter for?

My car radio doesn't have an input jack for an MP3 player, so the FM transmitter hooks into the MP3 player and plays it through the car radio.

if you have an ipod, there are always options.

I have myself the G5 ipod video with about 4000 songs on it (far from full i know). And nothing is better than having the option to listening to whatever I want when i want (I also have satellite, but thats a different story).

I found, a device that plugs into most factory radio's that lets you control your Ipod with the radio buttons and plays through the system without the fm transmitter. It wasn't too hard to install and i only needed to splice one wire to find the 12v. evrything else was snap in and work.

check their IPOD2CAR for your ipod. they have other options like just simple Aux2Car and many other things. took me about 1 hour to install.

I then found something like this to hold and mount it so i could see the screen.

and that was it. I now have full control of my ipod through my car stereo.

gee... all you guys with a kazillion invested in vehicle audio...

my vehicle sound system cost 10% of the entire vehicle:eek:

:p $20 discount store MP3 player works best on my moped - if i drop it or lose it or otherwise damage it i am only out $20... accessorized with one ear phone... had to re-rip all the music in mono because i use my left ear for traffic noises and the right ear for the soundtrack of me...;)

Why is that, traffic noise in stereo sounds much better !

Right ear is for music because I stay in the right side of the right lane - well here in the country the roads are only two lanes so if you were in the left lane you can see traffic coming RIGHT AT YOU  guess if I was in England I would have to use the left ear for music...
our 1962 Rambler has a Rambler All Transistor AM radio with push button controls :) maybe it is not the spectacular selling feature that is was back in 1962 but it looks proper in the instrument panel even if we listen to music from the hidden cd player :p
