I've been considering it since my sporting days have been non-exsistent the last couple years but do you consider it to be worth it or just a waste of money?

Not at all ;)

After office hours I walk the dog for some 40 or 50 minutes. Doesn't cost me anything, except for the add. food that he's eating

do you carry him/her for a little extra workout?

I don't think I get that, but whatever!

Yes, I guess that's what I would say, but I haven't had to do it yet...

It was from an old Blankety Blank gag. Something like 'John is an avid cricketer. In fact he's so keen that he gave that as the reason why he was often caught at his desk, playing with his.... blank or blanks'

What kind of diet do we consider?

My boyfriend is a healthy whit 45 years-old male who had bladder cancer a couple of years ago, but now recovered. He does smoke, but currently trying to quit. His diet is fairly good. Anyway, we are both very interested in a healthy diet and we would like to make whatever changes are needed to bring about optimum health. What kind of diet do we consider? Where can I find additional information on the diet, like recipes, shopping lists, etc?

This is a database forum Missy, but I guess you're in the right place.

Since I have never been sick in my entire life, here is my diet...

Everyday
*Lettuce
*Tomatoes
*Cheese
*Beef
*Turkey
*Chicken
*Pizza
*Water (lots!)
*Chili (maybe)
*Wine (maybe)
*Ice Cream (infrequently)
*Spaghetti / Pasta
*Cereal
*Any kind of fruit you can imagine
*Subway Sandwich

Anyway, how about that overview? :)

Hi monkey!
I work in a gym and Im a personal trainer so Im gonna say joining a gym is not a waste of time aslong as the gyms a good one and the instructors are good. watch out as there are alot of instucrtors out there giving faddy problematic gym programs out there which will do you no good!
Just remember the older you get the more active you'll need to be! The fitter you are the easier life will be when you get older. No healthy diet will stop your joints seazing but a good exercise program will do you the world of good!
