Hi.

I've been wanting to format a bar chart so that the -ve values are represented with a red bar and +ve values respresented with green.. (kinda like conditional formatting!) i can change the data series color to green and invert on -ve (which gives white for -ve) any way to do the above?
Many thanks

Steve

have you tried clicking on the bar objects in the chart and right clicking to see what's there in the menu?

yes i have. thats where i got the format data series from.. I don't think its possible unfortunately... but would be really good if it did..

many thanks

Steve

Little trick you might try
Divide the data into two value sets. Positive and negative
Plot as two value sets against common X axis.

Choose red for the negative and green for the positive
Since it sounds as if these values only need a single Legend say Profit Margin or whatever so instead of using teh legend which would give two entries just cover thatin Axis Titles

Just a thought
