Auto-Calculate Field from Other Table Values

Thanks for your reply. PO Amended Value, should read "PO Amendment Value" really. So my logic was have the original PO value in tblPO. Then calculate the current value based on the Original PO Value + (Sum of amendments against each PO). I've already created a Sum query to get the Sum of...

Auto-Calculate Field from Other Table Values

Hello All, I'd appreciate your input on how to set up my tables as I'm just starting off with setting my database up and I want to make sure I start off in the right direction. I'm doing a simple database to track the purchase orders (PO) I am managing. Each PO has a PO Number and an Original...

Table Structure & Relationships vs Reporting - Confused Help!

Hi, Thank you for your response. I will look into how to eliminate lookup fields. I believe it's about time I brush up my form design skills as the problems are no longer table structure. Thanks for all the help. Really appreciate it. Christakis

Table Structure & Relationships vs Reporting - Confused Help!

Hi, Thank you for your reply. The company is part of an alliance consisted of several different companies. Due to the nature of the projects, engineers from different companies work under the same project. This is not sub-contracting as such but rather "providing support" when resources are...

    Front End VERY slow

I know, I know :( The idea is to keep a copy of the back end in the two sites. How the two will synchronise is still a mystery. We thought of only editing the back end on one site and manually copying it to the other site. Additions and edits are rare so it might just work...

    Front End VERY slow

I am not sure of the speed. If I were to guess based on the file transfer results I would say around 1.5MB/s-2MB/s. What I meant by intranet vs internet, is that its a closed intranet access network. If you are not logged in the intranet you cannot access it. IT guys claim its a leased direct...

    Front End VERY slow

We get charged per user to get access to the terminal server. I doubt it is cost effective for what the database is used for.

Bob, thanx again for your input. I will investigate this office when I get back to the office. I noticed that SharePoint can be used for Access 2007. I know for sure we have SharePoint but we work with Access 2003. Do you by any chance know if Access 2003 can be used with SharePoint?

    Front End VERY slow

.mdb back end (2003 version)... Another thing is that the briefcase method wouldn't work on servers would it? I didn't quite understand the other method. I need to investigate this further.
