    ok moving slightly away from this question I have another . . What two reasons can be given if the records that are shown in the subform are the same irrespective of the record on the main form. I would firstly say that they are not correctly linked (i.e. VB coding), buy not sure why else?

    "the changes you requested have not been successful because they would create . . ." I open a form and attempt to add a record to its subform... I am getting the message: "the changes you requested have not been successful because they would create dublicate values in the primary key or...

    There are supposedly 3 checks to verify correct operation of form and subform? What are they? Check if to certain fields are locked to stop others changing data on purpose or accidently? Check to see that data changes with the rest of the data (linked) in both? Am I on the right lines...

    Also, on a Parts table, I need to increase all parts whose description includes the word "washer" by 4% Is this correct: UPDATE tblParts SET Price = Price*1.04 WHERE Description LIKE "%washer" I'm usually wrong about these things!!
