Shocking news about UtterAccess owner (2 Viewers)

@KitaYama Some crimes are defined in the Federal code. Anything that crosses state lines in particular as well as capital crimes such as murder and attempted murder. Other crimes are prosecuted in state courts. State judges are much more inclined to be lenient. If both codes apply, I think the Feds get priority. Some state judges are ridiculously lenient as in the cases you mentioned. The latest idiocy is a young girl who's father tried to murder her in front of her school because she refused to marry an older man. Sharia law allows this. The judge seemed to think the father had grounds and gave him 20 months for attempted murder. He normally would have gotten 10 years +. I'm going to guess that the girl is a minor (she's still in high school and probably shouldn't be leaving to get married anyway) and the 20 months takes us past her 18th birthday. There also may have been younger children in the home and the mother and other children would have no one to support them while the father is incarcerated.

The question is, would a white man who was not a Muslim be given such leniency?

wasn't there a catherine zeta jones movie about that? - Entrapment

Yes, I saw that news in Instagram the other day. It was a honor kill. The case was so disturbing that I wasn't able to read to the end o the article. I simply gave up.

One last question if you don't mind.
The procecutor in the case I explained (murdering dad) had demanded 7 years. When the verdict came out as parole with zero prison time, his face was filled with disbelief. Is procecutor allowed to appeal the sentence too (the same as defendants who are allowed to appeal 30 days after the verdict)

Yes, prosecutors can sometimes appeal a light sentence. But the standard of review is high – courts are deferential to sentencing judges I think usually unless there is a clear error (usually an error in law, not just their discretion)

Religious beliefs cannot take precedence over rule of Law. Muslims living in USA have to abide by the Law of the Land.
Says who? Trump will solve that problem if he has time but it is not a priority. Muslims also practice polygamy and "temporary marriage (AKA prostitution)" and child marriage and no one seems to care about that one either. Mohamad had at least one wife who was only 9 years old and Muslims think that because Mohamad did it, it must be fine. Utah seems to look the other way for some Mormon communities also and that's how we get TV shows named "Sister Wives". We should never have laws on the books that we don't have the will to enforce.

Minneapolis has a very large population from Somalia. Dearborn Michigan also has a large Muslim population. Their politicians campaign in their native language, how does that work for you? Talk about the Balkanization of America. The left is pushing it hard. We have members of congress who have dual citizenship AND they claim allegiance to their native country. Clearly these people are not working for their American constituents. Why does Congress not put a stop to this? Why would we need new laws? People elected to Congress are expected to represent ALL their constituents and yet Congress is complacent with this travesty by not removing these members.

Trump will soon put an end to all that ancient ideology in the US, and all the Mamdani's who try to push that agenda.

Do Americans living in Muslim countries, like Saudi Arabia, successfully impose their beliefs in those lands?

and all the Mandani's who try to push that agenda.
No matter what the polls say, there should be enough Jewish voters in NYC to elect someone else, assuming the Jews voted as a block and picked the same one. My preference of course is Curtis Silwa but Adams would be acceptable if they can't bring themselves to vote for a Republican. The point is they can't just stay home and not vote. And they can't split their vote if they care about the outcome. That is like laying down and playing dead the way they did in Nazi Germany.

Islam-ization of America is a serious problem and should be addressed unapologetically by leaders. Unfortunately, there's a problem with our ability to do that. If you're the governor of Michigan how DO you do that? You've already let 10's of 1000's of hardcore Muslims into our country who disagree with you, and they have voting rights..

When you've allowed your voting constituency to become majority Muslim, you've got a problem on your hands

Honestly thank God for NYC Jews, they may be the closest thing we hvae to a voice of reason in the area, EVEN if they sometimes vote Democrat.

There is also the issue that "age of majority" is not uniform across the USA. Some claim 16, others say 17 or 18. However, some states split age of majority for marriage vs. work vs. owning a gun vs. drinking alcohol. It is possible, given variability of state laws, to get four different ages for the four topics I just named. Though the Supremes recently weighed in on the "owning a gun" age and it might now be uniform at 18 across the USA.

Considering that folks of age 18 are eligible for military service, one could quickly see how silly it would be to say you can go to the front lines for your country but can't carry a gun when you get there.

What makes you think that?
Enough is enough. We're not going to allow religious beliefs and foreigners to make a mockery out of our justice system. That's my opinion and belief. American justice is not be perfect, but visit other countries and compare theirs to ours.

I prefer the Guardian Angel to the corrupt incumbent. If Mamdani wins, that will raise many eyebrows and NYC will be in bigger trouble. Trump will federalize it with troops. I was recently living in NYC for 6 months working on a project and it's a horrible, filthy place to live in. I'm so glad that's over.

If it becomes a big enough problem and threat to our National Security, that can be easily solved.

Do you think any Jews are going to vote for Mamdani? The NYC Jews were the one's who put both Republicans Giuliani and Bloomberg in power.
However, many Jews have moved out of NYC, to upstate to places like Ramapo, little towns like Darien, Connecticut, New Jersey...

That's the M.O. of Democrats, intentionally create a crisis and fix it so they can claim they saved us.
