I'm sure the UK law is similar to the US law wherein if you conduct a substantial portion of your business in the US you fall within US jurisdiction. 4Chan is a US site but the UK levied some big fines on it recently.

get rid of the lookup fields in your tables. Use a separate table for the stock symbols and names and store the primary key as a foreign key in your other tables. then your textbox is for display only and you can use something like: =[Symbol_Stock].[column](1) in the control source.

I would think there are several affirmative defenses to any violations of the OSA. One really important one would be that a moderator staff is in place and proactive. The biggest problem with that defense is that it is often the moderators deeply involved in the potentially offensive threads.

Nice to have a choice. In our area we have one, spectrum. We still have areas without service. Years ago a friend wanted to get cable and they wanted something like $6,000 to run a cable to his house. I think he wound up with satellite but didn't like it.

I didn't follow that case but did read about it today. Thought it was humorous that he represented himself and he argued that the fact that he didn't shoot the secret service agent was proof he wasn't there to hurt anybody. I think the Border Czar bribery case is a lot more interesting. I...

I think he's still held. I don't have it with me, but the scheduling order was pretty tight with short compliance dates. When someone is held they generally try to move the case along quickly. If they're out there's no real hurry.

I think I mentioned in a prior thread about the license plate reader database I was demoing with some 80 billion records. You can certainly figure out a lot about the vehicle and the people who operate it. You can track down where they live and work fairly easy, roads they frequent, and places...

My daughters school was right around the corner from our house and my wife went to get her and wound up staying all day to help with the kids. It wasn't only that some parents died but it was nearly impossible to get home from Manhattan that day so it left a lot of kids in limbo.
