    Data Access Page Script

MS Access Data Pages Apologies, but I am not using Access much, anymore, and have forgotten all I knew, which was not much.

    Holding down Shift

Shift Key Hold GHudson, At work, where I'm fairly sure I did restart more than once to be sure the shift bypass was disabled, I'm using Access 2000 on Windows 2000. However, I just shifted in at home on XP with Access 2003 and the tools menu did not stay active. :o I'll retest at work.

    Holding down Shift

Shift Key hold Indeed, all of the tick boxes had been checked off. - I could get to the Startup menu and change everything, but then had to restart to see it. Chris

    Holding down Shift

Shift Key disabled  I entered the code provided by GHudson (June 2002) and it worked nicely....except...I noticed that if I kept the shift key held after it was disabled, the Tools Menu was active, and I could open Start Up and change everything. At least that is what I think I saw. Has...

    VBA References Missing

lagbolt and jrjr: Thanks, making sure the references are in the right location is worth trying. The version of Access is the same, but I am running SP3 and the co-worker is on SP2. However, the problem occurred before I updated to SP3. In fact, the coworker will get DAO 3.6 missing, have to...

    VBA References Missing

Missing references Ok, I understand what you mean by deselect the missing references -- and of course have done this time after time. We are developing, so a new version gets grabbed by my coworker every day and then he has to open it and it won't run because it won't compile because of missing...

    VBA References Missing

Missing references Sorry MStef, but that was only marginally helpfull. Disconnect references? How is this done? I, too, have an large mdb application and when I hand it off to a co-worker to test, it immediately crashes because it won't compile and several references are missing. De-selecting...

    Broken Tabs

Help Tabs broke Thanks. That's what I figured. Already asked the sys admins to do it, if only they'd get off the internet....

    Broken Tabs

Help Tabs Broke My work installation of office has help installed and working. I can use the assistant to ask questions, but when help comes up, only the content tab has data. Selecting either the index or search tab gives me a gray panel. Will I have to reinstall. Is there a flag to flip to...

    Data Access Page Script

reports via data access page Have you been able to display a dynamic report with a data access page. I'm new at using them, and it seems like the only controls are navigation and record controls, not much else. Is it possible to jump to a record based on input to a field? Thanks. And...

Network Connection May Have Been Lost

Network connection error The fix I accidentally discovered matches what MS says to do: - create a new database and then import all the tables, queries, forms, etc into it. However, the other thing to do is remove all the old databases first to a backup drive, and import from the backup. I've...

linking to MS Project from MS Access

AHA! I downloaded Mr Moe's zip. It appears he is working with Access 97 and I gave him ADO code. Ah, well.

linking to MS Project from MS Access

Project to Access Wayne, I answered his last question by email, and offered to look at any code he had written. The code I typed may have had a syntax error or two. Still waiting for reply. Chris

linking to MS Project from MS Access

Prj 2 Access Well, scanning didn't work so well, so I retyped. Faster, anyway. Amazing how simple it is once it happens. It just takes forever to figure out how to do it. I repeat my disappointment with Microsoft documentation.......:( Hope this helps. I didn't clean up the code, so there...

linking to MS Project from MS Access

Project to Access Wouldn't you know it, my HP scanner can't find the OCR software so I have to reload. I'll get that done as soon as I can. We didn't do anything terribly fancy with reading resource data in. We kept is simple, same as you want to do: task, id, start, finish. However, we had...

linking to MS Project from MS Access

Access to Project Mr. Moe, We've had some success. Mostly we read Project data into Access and then export it from there to MySQL. Reading the data was fairly easy (after a few hints from our friends, here). As far a writing back to a Project file from Access, I've written a dummy file out...

    Insert query run in VB

Insert Query from DB Found the answer. Easy of course. One has to do an rst.Save. Update does not work. If MS Access documentation had any coherence to it, I would have found it first try instead of by accident. Thanks,

    Information Display

Info Display Seems like something to do. I'll try it. I built a small form with a label and text box, then set the text box value to the current field name being processed. Works fine, except that the form is transparent. I can't find any documentation on-line or books on something this...
