HELP ! Error - VB not running

I've been developing a db for a few weeks and now today it seems I can no longer use VB.

When I open a form that has event procedures, I get an error. When I go to design mode, in properties and try to get to any event procedure, existing or new, I also get the error message....

Error accessing file. Network connection may have been lost.

What happened to VB?

Network connection error

The fix I accidentally discovered matches what MS says to do:
- create a new database and then import all the tables, queries, forms, etc into it.

However, the other thing to do is remove all the old databases first to a backup drive, and import from the backup. I've found that if you open the original db and cause the error, it is persistent and will infect the new db, as well as every Access db on the system (usually the network drive).

After you feel secure enough that the new db is working with all your old data, back it up and purge all the old stuff.

Interestingly, I also found that a specific form caused my last problem with 'network connection'. If I tried to import it, it caused the error even during the import. I had to be sure not to try to import that form.

Hope this helps. Obviously, getting the patch is the way to go, and I've got to talk our administrators into getting it and loading it on every machine in the organization. I'm sure they will be thrilled.
