Car insurance - they always up my rate!

In the U.S., From what I understand, if you are in a public place, then anyone can film you. It is nice that Google hides their face. But of course you can hide your face for any reason. My wife is photo shy.

Car insurance - they always up my rate!

So for years you dump money into an insurance company, if you have a claim (health and life insurances work different from the rest). Then the insurance company determines how you actually get for repairs/replacement. Then they can cancel you or raise the rates.

What is your most memorable event / experience that will stay with you forever?

I have a lot of good memories. But the one that stands out right now is when I got to the top of half dome in Yosemite. It was quite a view (it is quite a hike up and back in a day).

Car insurance - they always up my rate!

My insurance rate has been pretty stable for the last couple of years. I went with the insurance company through Costco (yes you need a Costco membership). Pretty decent rate considering I have to have full coverage. And they do a monthly withdraw from my checking account (small processing...

    Numeric String comparison

I went with Micon's solution (with a slight modification). Just to give everyone a little background of the database. First off, I did not create the database itself. I was asked to produce some code to automate (flag) bad tests for dairies. So the dairy milk gets tested for like five...

    Numeric String comparison

So I have some code that is most of the time a number, but sometimes be a string (i.,e "1000000" or "<1000000"). But I have to compare to a number (i.e, 600000). The values come from an MS-SQL back end. I tried using Format() (i.e, Format(rst!.DMSCC.Value, "#########") ) and compare that to...

TechSupport - Sometimes You Just Have to Role Your Eyes

Of course the programming (especially at the OS level) is extremely complicated. There always the chance that an input to a particular routine was not handled correctly. Thus there is a cascading effect of failure due to unexpected values.

    Fasting

I know I should be fasting from time to time. I just have a serious lack of will power. I have tried fasting for a couple of days in the past. I felt like I was constantly hungry. Tried drinking a lot of water and some juices to help, but it never seemed to help. I even tried a cup of plain...

Coronavirus - Time to Reflect on the Initial Reactions

Well things are slowing opening up around here. Not sure how many people are still out of work or on a reduced schedule. Me and my wife are avoiding any places that we can (we still do our shopping, but not going to the malls or sitting in a restaurant).
