    Decent idea, but I don't recall anything in the original post about needing to know when a record was deleted or by whom. Seemed to only be concerned with limiting the view of certain records and maintaining older records somewhere else, hence the yes/no recommendation.

    Moe, Not sure I can help. You may have to change the field name. For future reference, use the following as a guideline for creating fields and other objects in your databases... Access Naming Conventions Note: No spaces (use underscore to separate words) AND Avoid !@#$%^&*() characters.

    Quick answer would be to import everything, then run a delete query to remove the records that don't match your criteria.

    To split a database... Go to Explorer, and find your database. Copy and Paste it in the same folder. Change the name of one of the identical files to identify it as the back end or data file... So you would have: Employees.mdb and Employees_Back.mdb Open Employees.mdb and delete all tables...

    Do you have a reference set to a Microsoft Word Object library? Go to any code module. Then Tools>>References menu and see if there's a check next to MS Word. If there isn't, check one. Your code should work if the reference is set.
