Help needed to run monthly cleanup of contact details in membership database

Hi CJ_London, thanks again for the reply! That's a very interesting solution to your problem there, I have to admit I was completely unaware that we could add an autonumber field to Excel, or even data validation - and I can see how that could be applied to us here, providing the data sheet...

Help needed to run monthly cleanup of contact details in membership database

Hi CJ_London, thanks for the reply! As far as I'm aware, that field will always say 'CGC Member 2014' - at the moment there are no plans to change that, although I guess any additional members from now on will need to be referred to as 'CGC Member 2015'...I hadn't thought of that until now! I...

Help needed to run monthly cleanup of contact details in membership database

Thanks for the reply, TJPoorman! :) Theoretically, that's the best idea - the latest spread they send us will always be the master version to use - but we'd potentially like to keep a record of any contacts who are no longer members, so although they no longer receive membership benefits they...

Help needed to run monthly cleanup of contact details in membership database

Hi guys, We've just recently taken on a new membership database from one of our clients, which currently has around 1,000 existing members. Their database came to us in the shape of an excel spreadsheet with contact details for all members (Title, First Name, Surname, Job Title, Company Name...

Form 'OnCurrent' Event not firing properly, but does when stepping through it??

Hi Dan, Thanks for your suggestions regards Case Sensitivity, once I'm able to access the database again I'll have a play with that. Regards the above though, there's no difference, save for the latter not having the 'Forms!frmOrderEntry!' prefix...why's that? I'm guessing it's something I've...

Thanks David and Cotty42, I'm going to try this now! I have to say this Watch tool is really useful, and a bit cheeky! :D

Form 'OnCurrent' Event not firing properly, but does when stepping through it??

Hi Cotty42, Thanks for the reply - how would I add a watch point? And also, how can I be sure that the values are being evaluated properly? Cheers, Jeff.

Form 'OnCurrent' Event not firing properly, but does when stepping through it??

Hi David, Thanks for the reply! Excuse my ignorance here, but would I be right in assuming that as I step through the code I should hover the cursor over each control to see what value appears, or is there an alternative way of inspecting them?

Form 'OnCurrent' Event not firing properly, but does when stepping through it??

Hey guys, in addition to the above, we've found a temporary fix for the problem! The Proceed button is visible at all times, but now we've got an If statement in the OnClick event of that button that flashes up a messagebox warning to the user if txtNet on the Main Form does not match...

Form 'OnCurrent' Event not firing properly, but does when stepping through it??

Hi guys, sorry it's taken a couple of days to get this done - really quite busy at the moment. So I've rebuilt the form, dropped out a few unnecessary controls, tidied up the code and tried to give everything a meaningful name! All in all, a rather painstaking process, especially when getting...

Form 'OnCurrent' Event not firing properly, but does when stepping through it??

Hello again, vbaInet! ;) Is it okay to upload a sample form again this time? The form we're talking about here is actually the one that opens the form we were just dealing with in the other thread!

    OpenArgs and OutputTo

Thanks, vbaInet! So do I need to put the mdlGlobaVariables code in the onclick event of the command button that opens the report?

    Apologies!

    OpenArgs and OutputTo

Hey vbaInet, What would be the best way to do that? I'd need to leave out our client data etc! Also, I do think the db overall is just having problems in general - here's another thread I started last week that we are still stumped on...

    OpenArgs and OutputTo

Hm, it's getting stuck on the Control Source code on the textbox. I used this (as I presumed [FieldName] needed to be changed to the text that I needed to show): =IIF(TempVars!OrderType="Tuco", "DO NOT INVOICE", Null) And I'm getting a MsgBox asking for the Parameter Value of "DO NOT INVOICE"...
