    Looking for Form Filtering advice

And you'd be pretty surprised how helpless my actual professors can be. No, you still have to dial 9 to get out. No, nothing's changed. Yes, even though it's only a fax machine.

    Looking for Form Filtering advice

In my 6 months of experience with Access 2003/2007, I have not right-clicked on a field until you mentioned it. I think my staff can live with that. It's pretty darn simple. Thanks!

    Looking for Form Filtering advice

[NOTE: I'm no programmer] Hey, long time no see. The info I've received from these boards have been able to last me a few months but now I have another request from my users. I made a database a while back that stores all the courses my department's faculty teaches, when they teach them, if...

Export Report to Excel. Ok in 2003, not in 2007?

I only need to do it because the people who would otherwise be receiving the reports have told me that their lives would be so much easier if people just sent them excel spreadsheets with all the orders they need instead of their department's standard of wordy orders that mean nothing to the end...

Export Report to Excel. Ok in 2003, not in 2007?

goooooooooood question. Lemme report back in a couple minutes EDIT: Actually, I can't test it today. I don't have access to an Access 2007 machine. Tomorrow, definitely tomorrow. EDIT #2: Any idea WHY functionality was removed?

"there isn't enough memory to perform this operation"

As an update, I've found no solution through my own experimentation nor through others. I've only learned that the quickest way to recover is to suck it up and re-create the form. =\

Export Report to Excel. Ok in 2003, not in 2007?

Hello again, I've run into a bit of a snag: I use Access 2003 to make/fix databases. The users use 2007. In 2003, I can export a report to Excel by right-clicking on the report, clicking on export, choosing Excel spreadsheet as the filetype, and saving the file. This is not so in 2007. In...

    Reverse Mail Merge?

Update and summary of what I did since I couldn't find a silver-bullet solution: The Find/Replace dialog in MS Word can find strings of characters only so long in length, so I took the first half of the first paragraph of the letter and copy/pasted it into the "Find" portion while I left the...

    Reverse Mail Merge?

    Reverse Mail Merge?

Oh, the trials of working with people who believe word documents are sufficient ways of storing data! Background: The people with whom I work did a mail merge a long time ago and have been updating the resulting 80-page documents manually when they receive a change of address or when they need...

"there isn't enough memory to perform this operation"

More information: I just checked the virus scanner and it has been running a background scan since about 5 minutes before the error happened. The scan is automatic and beyond my control as I am forced to use a crippled-permissions account on this school-owned laptop. I would not be surprised if...

"there isn't enough memory to perform this operation"

I guess I should bump this for some updates. I just edited another form in the same database and got the same error, effectively killing that form. Hardware Variables: Dell Latitude D620 w/ Intel Core 2 @ 2GHz 1GB RAM 2x Kingston 1GB flash drives attached Laptop is plugged into the wall...

    New Year Resolutions

I am utterly horrible at keeping resolutions as I am a procrastinator by nature. While in undergrad, I would put off a 10-week term 15-page paper until the day before it was due, lock my self in a room with a computer, and emerge in time for class the next day and turn the paper in. I would do...

Simple Question: Are search forms easy to create?

Hey all, I have had yet another feature request for one of my databases. It seems as though the built in search box at the bottom of the Access window is much too small for some people to see/use efficiently. They would like a nice little pop-up form or search field embedded in the form...

"there isn't enough memory to perform this operation"

I opened the query to which the form was bound and all the tables associated with the query and found no errors. This is good news as it's evidently a simple form corruption and I've been able to re-create the form with no problems whatsoever. I just wish I knew what happened so I could (1)...

"there isn't enough memory to perform this operation"

Nope, that's the real brain buster for me-- I can't open in design, form, or print preview. I think I may just recreate the form from a back up and spend some time reconnecting the button functions. I doubt it would take longer than figuring out the source of the problem.

"there isn't enough memory to perform this operation"

Hey all, Hope everyone's holidays went (or still are going) well. Today's my first day back at work and I went to make a few changes to one of my databases but when I went to open one of the forms in the database (and only this form), I got the error: "There isn't enough memory to perform...

Well, heck, Bob. It won't allow me to add to your rep. I guess I'll have to add you to my "Buy a beer if I ever meet him" list.

    My Users -- Submit button

Hey all, I'm in a pickle and hopefully you guys could help me out. My users are old and scared. They require things made in a familiar fashion which slows people in the know, but it's what makes them work well. My most recent request from them requires me to make a "Submit" button for one of...
