Export Report to Excel. Ok in 2003, not in 2007?

Hello again,

I've run into a bit of a snag:

I use Access 2003 to make/fix databases. The users use 2007.
In 2003, I can export a report to Excel by right-clicking on the report, clicking on export, choosing Excel spreadsheet as the filetype, and saving the file.

This is not so in 2007. In fact, I cannot find a way to export a report to Excel at all in 2007.

Am I missing something?

You can no longer export a report to Excel, but you can export a table or query. Can you export the underlying query instead of the report itself?

goooooooooood question. Lemme report back in a couple minutes

EDIT: Actually, I can't test it today. I don't have access to an Access 2007 machine. Tomorrow, definitely tomorrow.

EDIT #2: Any idea WHY functionality was removed?

I know a query can be exported in 2007; I didn't know if it was feasible in your situation. Personally I never export reports to Excel anyway. It always seems to goof something up, particularly if there are calculated controls or whatever. I either export queries or use automation if I'm looking for a particular format or want to add formulas/formats.

I only need to do it because the people who would otherwise be receiving the reports have told me that their lives would be so much easier if people just sent them excel spreadsheets with all the orders they need instead of their department's standard of wordy orders that mean nothing to the end user of the report. ;)

So I have made 2 reports: One for the department manager to see and comment on ("oh, this looks nice... I like the lines you have here") and one to send to the people who actually care about the data. :D

I'll take your word on the Query export and plan for that. No funky equations or anything -- just arrangement of data on this one.
