I have a form with a combo selection box to select which persons to bring up, what I want to be able to do is open the form blank or as in the northwind mdb(I think) have the fields not live. Then when you select the person, as if by magic all data appears. my question is HOW? Thanks Ian

Why not get the information of your combo box from a query, that way you can specify asending, which will place it a-z. Ian

It works when I do the code given below, BUT it also updates the next offer for that person ie it adds the info in the next text box, any suggestions? Remember this is a subform, so after you start to enter the first offer the offer under it becomes 'live'...I think this is what i need to stop...

Jon I added my macro to (on got focus) for the first tab position field within tab control page 2 and low and behold it works... I've not fully tested it ie adding info etc, but seems to work. Thank you. Ian
