    Highlighting records

Can you explain a little more. Seems that if you have the two subforms connected, the selection in subform1 would filter the records displayed in subform2, so any record selected in subform two would be a sub of the currently selected record in subform 1. It must mean that you want to know how...

    Using forms to update/create record

Don't have much choice, Julie. Have to get ahead. I've attached the sample I've been working on. Pierre.

Choosing A record from a combo + some

Rundog, My comboboxes are not based on tables. They are based on queries, but attached to the form. (they don't show under the queries collection) See in the row source of the comboboxes. Pierre.

    Using forms to update/create record

Julie, Why do you have separate tables for referrals and cases? Isn't there only one referral for every case and one case for every referral? You could separate the two in queries, forms and reports, but I don't think it is necessary with tables. OR CAN THERE BE MORE THAN ONE CASE PER REFERRAL...

    excel to access

Matt, I have an example of how I would do it in the zip. Just to give you an idea. If you want to, we can correspond and I can send more developed versions to you by e-mail as we go (I don't want any money, because I see it as preparation for when I start asking money within a week or two, so...

So far it is difficult because I can't easily conceptualize your process, but I'll try a little bit and let you know either way.

    excel to access

I'm going to work on an example and send it to you. I wish it were Friday afternoon, so I'd have more time, because tomorrow morning you're going to have to work on the database in the wrong direction again. I'm not versed in the official reason why they say that it's wrong not to store...

Referring to main form when focus is in its subform?

Thank you dcx693. It is beautiful. Me.Parent! And thank you SJ (Mile O Phile) for a great job.

    excel to access

See this amazing thread about doing it right your own way. Mike who is being attacked there for his lack of normalization and refusal to use VBA, has an insurance company in Australia, and is using multiple same-type of tables - maybe you can write him directly. I'm sure he'll want to help you...

    excel to access

MD. You don't need a different form for each of the 57 tests if you set up the database properly. You're probably going to need only 1. What you want are 57 different report printouts, one for every test but don't fear, it is still only 1 report ... You should base the report on a crosstab...

Referring to main form when focus is in its subform?

I have two tables. A table called tblPeople, many-to-many self-joined through the other table called tblPeopleJoin. That means there are two joins between tblPeople and tblPeopleJoin. The two joins are 1) from PeopleID and 2) from PeepleID in tblPeopleJoin on PeopleID in tblPeople and...

Scroll bars in a text box

Colin, Thanks for the LEN function info. It's going into my info database, after I research it. And I will add it to this discussion too, even if it is going to take me about 100 times longer than it would have someone with 10,000+ posts. I assume I don't carry much weight myself, with 88...

Scroll bars in a text box

You experts are being difficult here. Obviously one can see how much text there is in the text box by the size of the thingy in the scroll-bar. Should we not be quicker to accommodate the quirky needs of the human interface, instead of being so quick to question it? I mean look at the combined...

opening form based on a differant tables field

Your code was right. Something else must be wrong. The wizard uses Dim declarations. Here's a solution you can look at.

Choosing A record from a combo + some

Rundog, I hope this will help you. I made the ranges of numbers a second table, called tblGroup and set up a relationship (with referential integrity) with tblItem. There are actually SQL statements, not queries, but not obviously visible. You can find a pair of them in each of the Row Sources...

    Search Form Problem

Just add necessary fields to the table the query and the listbox, then you've got it. You can also move and resize the buttons however you want. Note I've referred each button click to the same function.
