move data from one column to another in table

I have a form set up through a table. On this table I had information in the wrong column. I put the bonus percent instead of bonus amount in amount column. I would like to get that copied and pasted to the percent column so it will correctly reflect on the form. Does any one know how I can do...

I need a form that will display the following information on each salaried employee: L Name, F Name, SSN, EE ID, Hire Dt, Birth Dt, Term Dt, Position Start Dt, Position, Company(because we merged several), Location, and a lot of salary / bonus...

    Interm. knowledge? willing to email?

Let me say I'm sorry. This forum is a wonderful resourse, and I've taken advantage of it. In my impatience, I've looked for an easy out. I really would like to be a part of this group, and unfortunately I gave a poor 'first impression'. I will make every effort to contribute, and not abuse...

It worked!... you're so good. Do you have a cheat sheet with these wizard calculations or something?! You could fax it to me - if so, email me at work and I could give you fax number. [This message has been edited by DAPPLE (edited 04-12-2002).]

    Combo box from field list

To prevent filling up the room with my questions, I thought I'd add it down here. haha. I want one of the fields on my form to be "text". And because I created it without the wizard, I need to tell it to accept letters. It keeps warning me that I'm entering text in a numeric field. Any help...

    Combo box from field list

Ok, I asked for advice on the combo box. I have used it successfully for those titles reflected in the "field list" box. However, I have a new field I want to add "regional division" (this should have about 8 listed). I don't know how to get that one going. I copied it from another field with a...

David, I tried that to no avail, it says I need to install it. I'm working with the MIS guy to get it taken care of. I'm sure the wizard could help me tremendously!

    simple tasks..

David... First THANK YOU... Next, I looked up the codes for entering masks. I entered ssn 000-00-0000 And it included the 'ssn' in the number format. Then I tried doing it another way, now I can't get anything to work. One thing at a time I guess.

    Interm. knowledge? willing to email?

It is so time consuming to come in here, search the topics.. look for responses. I think it would be much easier if someone would be willing to email with me. Also, helps me because I won't have so many programs open at once, access don't like it, keeps freezing up on me and I loose recent...

    Here's a tricky one..

Ok, I did a great job creating a form in 'mailing labels' (totally by accident) anyway, it shows the company logo in print preview perfectly. But, I could never get back to that one becuase I experimented with securing it - big mistake. So, I created another form just like it, not mailing label...

    add field with new data

I don't particulary want to save the new info on the table, just get it on the form. Maybe my foundation is wrong, but I only used the table to start the form. Now that it's running, I just want to be able to add, subtract fields.. edit as needed. And, what is the "field list" you're referring...

combo box - part of the field

When scrolling through the form with the tab button, the combo box seems to have a tab all it's own.. I want it to be directly related to the field it's in.. is that possible?

    add field with new data

Say I wanted to create a field with new data on a form.. should I just copy one of the others and rename it or use the option group? But when I do that in Design view.. It is not reflected in the Database view. Also, setting the tabs go from one field to another field in a particular order ( I...

Change the lay out of field

I'm so glad I read this before finishing my method of moving the fields. I was doing it one by one.. to the right then up, up again, adjust left. Gosh. Now that's wonderful - thanks!

can you set a field to be a percentage?

Thanks David. I appreciate your advice, feel overwhelmed, but thrive on the challenge. I'll do what I can, and see how it turns out. I feel like a sponge, absorbing - as you say. I have two books I've been reading, one used comprehensive from the univ that's a couple yrs old.. the other...

Thank you Cindy.. one more thing though. What about the order you tab through the fields on the Form View. That didn't change with the order of the columns.

    edit data on form

You're right, it's simple. I love word, excel, and powerpoint.. but I've never taken a class in access and it seems to be more complicated - I was expecting a more complicated answer. Sorry to trouble you. Thanks you though. Can I delete columns in database view.. or just hide them?
