    Actually its not like that at all - let me try a better example Entity A Entity A: Widget 1 Widget 2 Widget 3 Entity B Entity B: Factory 1 Factory 2 Factory 3 Associative Table Entity A: Entity B: True/False: Widget1 Factory1 True Widget2 Factory1 True Widget3 Factory1 True Widget1...

    Question Find common values in a many to many table

    Well yes, but that still returns fur and ears instead of just ears because fur = true for cat (unless I am misunderstanding your suggestion). Obviously, this is not the real data, I was just trying to make a really simple example to show the concept. In reality, the true/false field is not...

    Should Obama have got the Nobel Peace Prize?

    I think that is part of the reason. I think the other part was to recognize and reward the american people for electing the first not completely white person ever in our history. I think it is pretty hilarious that americans, who LOVE to be number 1, actually seem to be pissed of that their...

    Graduate degree worth it?

    As far as I can tell, advanced degrees and certs are worthless, its all about experience now. Everybody and their mother is out there looking for a job right now, and unless you have 5 to 10 years of experience, no one will even consider you. Sorry to be so negative, and I'm sure that what I'm...

    using @@identity more than once

    You might be right that there is a better solution, but I've used that method with no problem even with several people using the db at once. Realistically, 2 people would have to insert at precisely the same instant to run into a problem. If you do run into that problem, you could always do a...

    using @@identity more than once

    instead of Set rs = db.OpenRecordset("Select @@Identity as LastID FROM tblPractices;") lngID = rs!LastID you could try lngID = dmax([WHatever the name of your autonumber field is],"tblPractices")

    unconverted state error

    Yep, backing up more often is the answer. I just automatically make a copy of any files I am going to work on before I open them. That way, I never lose more than one "session" worth of work. Hopefully you remember what you did . . .

    unconverted state error

    Hopefully you have a backup copy. You could try compact and repair, or decompile, but I suspect you might be hosed.

    Try stepping through your code in debug mode to see what it is doing.

    using @@identity more than once

    It is going to be hard for people to tell you what is wrong without seeing what you are doing. Why don't you post your code, and point out which line is throwing the error?

    Anniversaries, 09/11 and Hurricane Ike

    So do you also curse god all the time for the 3000+ people that he killed that day? I'm just saying, if he was responsible for saving your father, that means he was also responsible for killing the rest of them, right? Especially since the hijackers did what they did in the name of god.

    VBA generated excel file does not save Modules

    What happens if you put a breakpoint in your code before the call to save the workbook, and manually save it at that point?

    VBA generated excel file does not save Modules

    Check your security settings. In 2007, all code is automatically disabled until you change the security settings to allow it.

    keypress - "T" for 'today' in a date field and "N" for 'now' in time field

    Re: keypress - "T" for 'today' in a date field and "N" for 'now' in time field I think this is already built into access - control colon inserts the current date if I'm not mistaken.

    SOAP and Access

    What version of the web toolkit are you using? Does it say that it is compatible with Vista in the requirements? I have only installed it on XP, so maybe there is a different version now.

    Null checkboxes are grey

    Has anyone else run into this? If you have a group of checkboxes, and one of them is selected, then the unselected ones are white. But if none of them are selected, i.e., null value for the field, all of them are grey. I need all of the unselected ones to be white. I think the way to solve...
