    Print current record BEFORE saving?

I have a form where users will enter patient information, including the account number. I have a command button on the bottom to print labels (really just a report I set up). But if I try to print the current record after the account number (autonumber) is assigned, it has headings only on the...

Lock field on THIS form only?

Maybe I'm trying to do this the wrong way. I have a form set up where the user will enter the account number, which brings up the name, address, etc fields. Then they are to enter a discharge date and time for the account. Is there any way I can set the name, address, etc fields as read only...

Pls Help. How can I set custom page size in reports?

Yep, you got me there. I assumed it would let you select your own custom size but now I see it does not. Maybe Rich will have the answer?

Pls Help. How can I set custom page size in reports?

Use's Rich's suggestion, it's what you want. Yes, it does. When you first go to Page Set Up, you are on the Margins tab. Go to the next tab and change your paper size.

Pls Help. How can I set custom page size in reports?

This may or may not help. If you go to Tools and then Options, and click on the Forms/Reports tab, there is a place to enter in a template to use. I'm not exactly sure how you'd use this, but maybe you can.

Email current record from button click?

I love finding things I want it to do are actually possible! Thank you! Now, another question. Can I put the same code that I put in the OnClick event of my button into the AfterUpdate event of the form? Is THAT how I'd do it without the button click, or am I simplifying it too much? The...

    Autonumber based on a field?

Well not exactly, unless I'm misunderstanding you. I want the db to ASSIGN the number, and not the user selecting one from a list. Currently I have it autonumbering starting at 800000, and the inpatient would start at something like 200300600. The tricky thing is, the number range will...

    Autonumber based on a field?

In our patient accounting system, the system assigns from a range of account numbers based on ip/op status. Users as well as nurses are accustomed to recognizing the status by the account number, since that prints on the label and not the word "Inpatient" or "Outpatient". Once our main...

Email current record from button click?

I thank you for your reply, I think this is going to be just what I need. However, I got a couple errors so I'm not sure if I entered something incorrectly or what. First, on the query. Under the primary key (ID), I typed in : forms!PhysicianTable!ID and when I hit enter, it...

    Autonumber based on a field?

I set up a database to register patients when our main patient accounting system goes down for whatever reason. This was my first db ever so it's really thrown together and ugly, and I'm planning to do it over from scratch this week, before our system goes down for planned maintenance next...

Email current record from button click?

I have a simple db for one user who will enter doctor credential informations. When she adds a new one, I need to be notified so I can add it in our main registration system. I've played around with the Send Object macro but have had little luck. I got it to send an email, but it had all my...

Search for record by last name

This HAS to have been covered a million times, but all the examples are different enough for my situation that I can't figure it out. I have a database used by one user who will enter in doctor credentials information. The doctors are assigned an autonumber (ID) but it means absolutely...

    Make Form controls go away?

I am the Queen of Dumb Questions today but I can't figure this out. I have a form that I made as the startup form, instead of using the switchboard. But it has the form controls at the bottom to jump from one record to the next. Since there will never be records added to this form (it's just...

    Dumb question...autonumber

I have an ID field on each record that is just an autonumber and doesn't mean anything to the user. Do I have to have it display on the form?

    Date format change?

I just received a db that was created in Word (?? I know nothing about making a db in Word) and was transferred into Access. I am now setting up queries, forms, etc for the user. Two of the date fields were entered in a long format (September 1, 2003) and I would like them to be in a shorter...
