This HAS to have been covered a million times, but all the examples are different enough for my situation that I can't figure it out.

I have a database used by one user who will enter in doctor credentials information. The doctors are assigned an autonumber (ID) but it means absolutely nothing to the user. I have an edit form set up for her to go make changes to doctors when she gets different information. How can I let her search by the last name and first name fields to find the record she needs?

TIA

If you have a form that already shows the data you want for each doctor then add a combo box using the Wizard. On the Wizards first screen select the 3rd item, "Find a record....". Select the ID, LastName and FirstName when asked and hide the ID. Finish the Wizard. Now the user can start to type in the doctors last name and when she finds the right one that doctors record will be displayed.

Beautiful! Thank you very much. I kept playing with a command button and couldn't get it to work....never occurred to me a combo box was the way to go. Thanks again!

You are welcome. Continued success with your project....
