    Send object help

I have a database that is populated from a form on our intranet. I'm trying to use the SendObject to send a report whenever new records are added but I'm confusing myself. I originally set up the macro, then in the form properties, in the After Update field, chose that macro. Works great if...

Report sent daily, if new records?

I just recently learned how to create a button that, when pressed, will use the SendObject function in a macro to send a report through email. I would like a report emailed daily, only if new records have been added since the last time the report was created. Am I asking too much? Can it be...

    Not allowing new records

Can you tell me which properties to look at? I've looked at the form's properties and each of the field's properties. Allow Edits....yes Allow Deletions...yes Allow Additions...yes Data Entry....yes Recordset type....Dynaset Record Locks...no locks Those are the ones that sound like they'd...

    Not allowing new records

Yes, just ran a query from that table and it does let me add new records that way.

    Please Help Help Help

I can't fix your original problem but I have a suggestion for splitting out your database into several. Copy your table and rename the copy, then take out fields in each table that don't belong there. And then of course you have to set up relationships, etc. Maybe I'm way off....this is just...

    Not allowing new records

I guess I don't quite understand the question. I didn't do anything (purposefully, at least) to make it not updateable, but that's not to say I didn't change some setting accidentally... My intent was for the user to be able to make edits if necessary, if that helps any.

    Not allowing new records

I have a form with a subform from 2 separate tables. I was still ironing out some small problems when all of the sudden neither form would allow me to enter new records. There are no record locks, the 'allow edits', 'allow additions', etc is all set to yes. I have no idea what would have...

Duplicate field from one record to the next

This should be simple....and I've actually done it before...but I can NOT get it to work this time. I have a simple form with about 4 fields. I want 2 of them (Account and PatientName) to stay the same from one record to the next to save them from retyping the information. They will need to...

    Send to database AND email?

Before I get started on a database, I'm wondering if it's possible to save all entries to the database from an online form, PLUS send an email notification to certain individual(s). I'm going to create a maintenance workorder form on our intranet to do away with the slips of paper people...

    Switchboard problems

One is supposed to be Add Applicant Info, the other Edit Applicant Info, but both of them are working (or not working) the same way....you can scroll through past entries but can't add new records, and can't make changes to the existing fields. So I assume it is the form, then, correct?

    Switchboard problems

:( Yep, everything is set that way. (Except the allow edits, I left that as yes so she can make changes). I'll attach my database, take a look if you have a minute, maybe I'm missing something obvious. ------- Well, scratch that....it won't let me attach it, even zipped. :( I'll keep...

    Switchboard problems

You know, after I posted this I read someone else saying they made their own switchboards with a blank form, that it gave them more control. So I thought I'd try it too, but still have the same problem. It must be as Autoeng suggested....I have something, somewhere set to not allow new...

    A helpful note about security

I will second this!! :) A few years ago when learning Access, I decided to run the security wizard so only certain users can get on it. How hard can it be, right? Well, I secured myself right out of a database....it wouldn't let ANYONE in, including me, the administrator!!! I ended up...

    Field Linked to Queries

I'm no expert.....but here's my 2 cents. Instead of trying to just stick it on the form, why not add ALL fields to the query. You can make queries based on tables or based on other queries.

    Not sure how to proceed

I have a database that I've been struggling with, and thought I had it all figured out. But I've run into a big roadblock and I'm not sure how to get around it. The database is for tracking applicant and account information for our financial assistance program (FAP). One table gathers...

    Switchboard problems

Since the switchboard is basically a form, I'm hoping this is the right place to post a question. I have a form that I want the user to be able to open in Add Mode and also in Edit Mode, so I added both to the switchboard. But the Open in Add Mode isn't working....it should open with all...

    Totalling on a report

You know, that's what I thought would work also. But I was getting #Error when I ran the report, so I assumed I was wrong. The fap_payment field is a calculated field all ready, does that make a difference?

    Totalling on a report

Is there a way to have the total for a field on a report, without it being in the query? Maybe I'm going about this backward... I have a database that tracks data for our financial assistance program (fap), and they have asked for a report that shows the total fap payments for the last 12...

    Calculation from 2 tables?

Well just slap me now. I didn't have relationships built between the 2 tables AND I didn't have it included on the query grid. Thanks for all your help, I believe it's working now!!
