I have a form with a subform from 2 separate tables. I was still ironing out some small problems when all of the sudden neither form would allow me to enter new records. There are no record locks, the 'allow edits', 'allow additions', etc is all set to yes. I have no idea what would have happened!!

I AM, however, able to add new records by just typing it in the table. Just not on the form.

Any suggestions?

Are you working with an updateable or non-updateable recordset?

I guess I don't quite understand the question. I didn't do anything (purposefully, at least) to make it not updateable, but that's not to say I didn't change some setting accidentally...
My intent was for the user to be able to make edits if necessary, if that helps any.

Your posting said that you have a subform from two tables. That may be a non-updateable recordset.

Take the recordsource of your subform into the QBE frame, execute the query and see if you can update it. If you can't, it's non-updateable.

Yes, just ran a query from that table and it does let me add new records that way.

Then you have a form property that set wrong.

Can you tell me which properties to look at? I've looked at the form's properties and each of the field's properties.

Allow Edits....yes
Allow Deletions...yes
Allow Additions...yes
Data Entry....yes
Recordset type....Dynaset
Record Locks...no locks

Those are the ones that sound like they'd have anything to do with it. Apparantly I'm being really thick headed because it just CAN'T be that difficult......but I'm unable to find the problem.
