    Finding partial matches using SQL

Thank you! I've been trying it now. For some reason it tells me there is a syntax error in my FROM clause. (The table name is Student Mailing List. I have tried it with and without spaces, with and without caps!)

    Finding partial matches using SQL

I need to run a Duplicate Query that searches for LastName duplicates and FirstName duplicates--however, I want to find partial matches for the FirstName, finding those with the first 3 letters the same. (For example, it would pick up both Sam Smith and Samuel Smith.) Did I read this has to...

    Query: override date formula?

Thank you for your prompt reply. I was remiss in not prefacing my question by stating that I am a self-taught Access user! (There was no one at my position to teach me!). Sooooo, could you try to maybe walk me through that a little more basically? Thank you.

    Query: override date formula?

I have a table that lists Event locations and dates. From that table I created a query that has that same information PLUS a new field that calculates the date that applications for that event need to be in. So if the event is June 1, the application is due 45 days prior to that. I made the...

Navigation Pane hides new queries & reports

Thank you for this suggestion. Everything looks as it should. Because I have a lot of hidden items, I would prefer to NOT have the "show hidden objects" checked. But then, as I said, anything new that I create won't show--I have to completely close out of Access and then go back in and then have...

Navigation Pane hides new queries & reports

Whenever I create a new query or report, it automatically becomes Hidden, and the only way that I can see it (still as hidden) is to close out of Access and then go back in. Any suggestions?

    Navigation Pane Scrolling Issue

I'm not sure if the issue I had is the same as you describe, but I tried the following and it worked: Right-Click on the Navigation Pane header. Select Navigation Option from the displayed list. Select Double-Click (if it is not selected) under the option-group 'Open Object with'.

    Navigation Pane Blues

Out of the blue, I have had 2 problems with the Navigation Pane: (1) When I create new reports, they instantly become "Hidden Items" and they won't show (either as hidden or not) in the Navigation Pane list (even though the "show hidden items" option is checked) until I close out of Access and...

    Adobe Acrobat Pro X

Adobe Acrobat Pro X I had this Adobe Acrobat Pro X program accessible--as a tab--in my Access 2007. After an error message and shut down, that capability--and tab!--has now disappeared, so I no longer have the option to use Adobe Acrobat Pro X. Any suggestions how to get it back?

    Navigation page

This is another "out of the blue" change in my Access (I still have not figured out why new queries & reports become "hidden" in the navigation pane). So now, when I right click on a query or report in the navigation pane to either change the name or delete it, the cursor either just jumps off...

    Hidden Objects in Navigation window

One day, out of the blue, this started happening: I create new queries & reports but they do not show up in the Navigation Pane. Instead, they automatically become "hidden objects" there. I do not choose to have the "show hidden objects" option checked in the Navigation Options b/c I have so...

    Report layout help

Yes. Actually I have one large table (>10,000 records), and from that I create many queries; each query has 14-20 records; each record has 50-60 fields. So the reports are based off of the queries.

    Report layout help

Thank you for this. So I have it so that only one record (person) shows per page; however, the 50 fields run across the top of the multiple pages, so that each record/person is pages & pages long, with squished info in each field. Is there a way to manually move each of the 50 fields around...
