    Unwanted parameter value pop-up

I don’t really know what is going on here. I am trying to open a form and now it keeps asking me for a parameter value: Service.[Service_ID]. The thing is I have no idea where, in the code, Access is looking for this value. It seems to be doing this prior to the onset of my form load…...

Data not being recognized in Dataset???

So I am trying to pull some title information to update a couple fields in on of my tables, but when I try to create a dataset, Access seems to think there is not data (it tells me either BOR or EOF is true, when I try to rs.MoveFirst). I have also tried to do a record count (i.e., If...

Converting 32 bt to 64 bit???

I have a user that just switched to 2010. He tried to run my Accde file and couldn't. It seems that he's running 64 bit version of Office 2010. When I tried to open my 32 bit application... it said I needed to change it to 64 bit. Or words to that effect... I tried the save database as...

Setting a forms focus using a variable

I have two (or more) forms open. I want to set a form (that doesn't have focus) as the active form. I think I do this like so: Forms!FormName.SetFocus But I am using a variable to denote the form I want to be Active. lets say the varibale name is frm12bActive. So if I wrote this variable in...

    Formatting Memo Fields

Well the form is extensive and is already in production. The memo fields are already set to plain text, but that doesn't prevent the cut and paste jobs from holding some formatting (I guess returns???)... Meaning: I can still paste bullet points from word and the bullets show up... they just...

    Formatting Memo Fields

Bob, You rock! That worked exactly like it was supposed to... unfortunately it didn't turn out to be what I needed, because the inputbox isn't big enough. Blah! That said, do you know of a better way to remove formatting from a cut and paste situation into a memo field. use the same basic...

    Formatting Memo Fields

Bob, Thanks for investigating this matter! In hindsight I realized that I didn't explain my issue clearly. I kind of skipped one very large thing. It isn't that the data looks bad in the form... (my mistake) it is that when I print it out from Reports as a .PDF the text values in the memo...

    Formatting Memo Fields

This one is killing me! I have investigated this thing way too long for what it's worth, but my OCD isn't letting me stop LOL. Whenever a user pastes text with formatting into a memo field Access cannot decipher this and Marks the value with a funky question-mark surrounded by a rectangle. I...

Setting 2010 printer, outside of the report design mode

OK… after some investigation I have resolved an issue that was occurring in my Access application. I have developed an SLA creation tool which is used by 80+ users. The end result/product is an SLA/contract (in the form of an Access report) that gets pushed out to SharePoint in pdf. With the...

    Popup Form vanishing

Occasionally I have a situation where a popup/modal form vanishes from the desktop. I keep the database window (or whatever it's called now) hidden...so the user will see nothing but the form itself. Most recently I was running the form, but at the same time had the code editor open. When I...

Try to export a report as an attachment

I have a report that gets passed a paramter value when opened. I am current trying to send the report as an attchment, but because the report must have the parameter value and the DoCmd.SendObject doesn't seem to have a place for an arg... I have to first open the report, then try to send it...

Exporting an RTF file to SharePoint

Hmm... that wierd. I have no idea then why it won't post to SharePoint. It won't post to SharePoint in any method other than a PDF... txt, rtf, html... none of them will post. I asked the SharePoint guy and he had no idea why this was happening... As far as not having to open the report...

Exporting an RTF file to SharePoint

OK I have a process which exports a report to a SharePoint site. This process works fine as so: That is to say a PDF file is exported to SharePoint with no issues. AND... when I try this: It pushes an RTF formatted report out just fine to the spcified location on the server...HOWEVER WHEN...

Report truncating fields when exporting to Word .rtf format

Sorry it's taken me so long to respond to this... Hmm... I don't understand what is meant by RTF cannot handle "can grow" because it does handle the can grow property, with no issues, in places where the page break does not happen. I haven't checked on the rest of this stuff yet, as I got...

Report truncating fields when exporting to Word .rtf format

I will give it a shot... but I fail to see how chopping off even more text will show us why the memo field is being truncated in the first place. The issue is that when the text runs onto the next page, it gets cut off. If I prevent the can grow property from allowing the text run over to the...

Report truncating fields when exporting to Word .rtf format

Um... if I set the Can Grow property to "no" then it will chop off all the memo text beyond the length of the bound textbox... won't it? That should make truncate the memo field even further... right?

Report truncating fields when exporting to Word .rtf format

I tried changing the memo field property from plain text to rich text, but it doesn't do anything accept show the hard returns and such... so it prints out a bunch of stuff like this: and the memo field still gets truncated in the RTF export. My only guess, from reviewing the report design...

Report truncating fields when exporting to Word .rtf format

I looked this one up on the forum and I stole this title from another post in 2005 which had no replies to it. I am experiencing a similar issue, but mine has nothing to do with any printer issue. I have a report that can be pushed out to PDF or RTF. The PDF push runs just fine (i.e., the PDF...
