    Date Calculation

Jim You don't need to store the duedate at all. It's actually best not to store calculated dates as these often change, so it's better not to save the result. What you need to do is create the query in design view, then in a new column in the query, type in what you want as WayneRyan said. eg...

    Stock Management System

Hello Firstly, you may need more address fields than you already have. Secondly, I'd remove the spaces in between names such as 'product code' - it will make your life easier later on. You will also need to think about how products relate to a supplier. I am assuming that one supplier can have...

Strange happenings with Access - many questions

Thanks for replying Barry (sorry, forgot to buy you any lardons). I was expecting someone to give the answer of copying to a blank db, but thought that if it is a problem with Access rather than anything else (network) then I figured it may occur again. If that's all I can do, that's what I...

Strange happenings with Access - many questions

Dear all Over the past couple of weeks, Access has been acting very strangely, and I'm at a loss as to what do about the problems. I'll number the problems, and if anyone can shed any light on any of them, I'd be grateful. My scenario is this - I have a database which is used in three Areas...

    Finding Blank Records

This post should help you out with starting the autonumber at a number other than 0. http://www.access-programmers.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=56575&highlight=autonumber However, will the figure always be prefixed with L? If so, there is no need to store the L. It's not a good idea...

    Invisible Label

I'm glad it's sorted. I think that the option of vertical must only be on Access 97 and higher as I cannot find it. Let's hope it doesn't do it again.;)

    Invisible Label

They are appearing as below, which I presume is what you mean by horizontal. organ isation When you say vertical, do you mean turned 90 degrees? If so how do you change it? Is there a property for it? Did you use code? Sorry, but I've not had to do this before.

    Invisible Label

Hi Can you please convert it to 97 - I can't open it. :)

    Invisible Label

Hmmm. Have you tried to repair the db? Might be worth a shot. If that hasn't resolved it, you could try posting it on here so that we can have a look. Most of us use Access 97, so if it's 2k or higher, can you convert it down?

    Invisible Label

Is it possible that hey are being hidden? If you to the Format Menu, then choose Bring to Front, see if that does anything. I don't understand why there is a difference if you change them to horizontal, if they did once appear ok as vertical. Sorry, can't think of anything else.

Many-to-many relationship between form and subform?

So are you using a combo as Pat suggested? If so check the properties of the combo. As Pat said you need the bound column to be the ID. In Properties, there should be one called Column Count, and this should say 2 (as you need both ID and Name), and your bound column will probably be column 1...

    Pick List Form

Maybe I'm missing something here, but why is your subform based on a query? Can you post the db here?

    Pick List Form

Why bother with exporting to Word when you can just as easily have a report which will do the labels? Is this something you'll need to do on a regular basis? If so, I'd say the easiest thing to do would be to add another field to your table which is a check box field, have your form with the...

    Duplicated data due to structure?

Thank you for replying. I have managed to sort the problem - it was actually down to a query used for doing the front end form. I did this so long ago, I really have no idea why I set the form up in this way. When I get time I will have a re-think and find a better way of achieving this. 5...

    Duplicated data due to structure?

Hopefully someone can offer me some advice on this. I have a db which is now being used in other offices. To do this, I just copied the structure but not the data. All versions of this db have been working fine (for months) until I changed some data today. What I'd like to know is a) what...

    Number of days

Check out the DateDiff function by doing a search on here. In one of my db's I have a module with the following code which I can then call in any form or report - saves time if you need it in a lot of reports. HTH Public Function GetWorkingDays(StartDate As Date, EndDate As Date) As Integer...

    Report Labels

Ok, on page setup from the file menu, go to the columns tab. Under grid settings it will say, number of columns. Change this from 1 to 2. Then you can choose the column layout across then down. HTH.
