    time dependent data

On right track... Your set-up sounds good... When you register a visit you should write the fee to the tables so that you aren't referencing the value from the ID. Historic tables for reporting should reference from ID's unless you want current data. All info that is to remain written in stone...

    Autolookup - filtering

Hmmmm..... Well... At least one of the tables, you would have to set the field so that their was no duplicates allowed. This would make a one to many relationship if you tried to make a relationship. Set is up in both tables so that "no duplicates allowed" ..... Then you will have one-one...

    Trying to add a record???

One possibilty... Go into your table.. not the form... and go to the last record, as though you were to add a new one... What you might see if this is autonumber is that ID value it shows is lower then the last record... If this is the case, I suggest you create a new table, appand all...

    Importing data.....in brief

Well.... I would say no, within reason..... I mean obviously there are other DB's such as Oracle/AS400's/SQL Server ect... that are better for huge volume data structures... Access is user friendly, easy to use. VB like coding and works quite well considering microsoft takes care of it... lol...

    subform "GoToRecord"

In reply.... Well what I am presuming is that your code then is not local to the subform. If you also coded it yourself... Code it in the subform on it's own giving the table it's own recordset name, even though it's referencing the same table, use a seperate RST so that there is no...

Switchboard form adds record to the top

Shot in the dark... I am presuming you are adding records to a table not a db... which lies in your db... Alas if you have autonumber as your id selector, you should be able to conrol this in the form and order by any field you want every time you move around on your switchboard... Ascending or...

    subform "GoToRecord"

One hint.... Learn vba and create all your own controls.... Keep them in a seperate template project report and use them for further reference. If you made all your own recordsets and populated controls from these recordsets you would not have this problem I am sure... And there would be no...

    making combo box mandatory

Well..... First off all you have to do is set limit to list to Yes. Second depends on weather or not you are using VBA or the garbage wizard recordset.... I personally add all my own records, because I am a control freak and hate the wizards.... If you are using VBA which I recommend you to to...

Auto month field creator (or similar?)

Question... Do you want this done at run-time when the user makes the entry or at a later time updating the whole table...? You can use the current date fucntion in short form... Such as : 06/21/02 or what ever date format your pc is set at... Point being use the mid, left, right function to...

    Creating runtime tables

Well... Why do you not creat an index for each list ( 2nd table but at least you only need 2 tables) and keep them all your lists in one table...? A user / client could reference this list by ID or prompt them for a meaningful description for each index.... The proper way to do this would...

    Importing data.....in brief

ok, refrase on question!!!! "SQL Limit"

VBA will work... The reply on VBA coding was accurate, I do most of my sql in VBA now and have never had limitation problems. It even allows you more control over user driven queries that need variables for filters.... Note that in VBA you need to use small quotes ' instead of double quotes "...
