Just want to edit an emailed report!

Hmm. When it creates the report, it creates it as is. If the report is landscape, you may have to make some changes to it. So, the header info is included as part of the report, NOT as a separate header. I don't think you can tell it to do that. You could create the Word document, add a...

    Page Sum In Report Header

Why not simply use a text box with the data Access defaults print reports with? ="Page " & [Page] & " of " & [Pages] Should give you Page 1 of 10, for example. I can't see why it would matter if it were in the Page Header or the Page Footer.

dividing Report records with a line

If Print Preview is fine, then my bet is on the printer -- especially because we have had some that have done that. Try printing it somewhere else. I will bet that it works fine on that other printer.

Just want to edit an emailed report!

From MS Office 2000, select Tools, Office Links, Publish it with MS Word. You may have to play with the setup a bit, but it does work. If you save it, then you should be able to e-mail it and allow the user to edit it and send it back to you. HTH

    Revisiting Access

If I understand you correctly, you can get into the database, because the Switchboard opens. Then, when you click on the selections on the Switchboard, nothing opens. Sounds like you need to see to where your Switchboard is pointing. 1. Push PF11. Close the Switchboard form. This should...

Operation invalid without a current index. (Error 3019)

First, make sure you and all other users are out of the database. Second, make a copy of it, just in case. Third, go into the database and select Tools, Compact and Repair Database. Hopefully, that will fix the index.

forms & tables open partly below taskbar

Are the letters and objects (Forms, Reports, etc.) also bigger on this other PC? I'm thinking it has a lower screen resolution. Check that and let us know if that's it.

    Revisiting Access

Can you open the sample DB's, like Northwind? If so, then perhaps you should check your version -- Help, About Microsoft Access. See if it is the same version of Access as what you started developing in. If not, then a reload of at least Access, possibly all of Microsoft Office is your next...

    DB size?

Mike: I am a programmer, so NONE of the databases that I have set up are for my use. Also, I PREFER the name and address separated, but the info coming from taxes is not supplied that way. Adam: Sounds like a good idea to move to SQL, with the number of users and records. One of my...

    DB size?

Mike: Ag deals with AG District data. Every 8 years, the four districts (one at a time) are reviewed. Farm Header records are related one to many Parcel records. The Farm Header record has part of the Parcel info listed in a sub-form. Autoexec macro runs at startup and opens the...

    DB size?

Franknstuff Tried to put this in a nice table, like Pat did, but no luck for me. I have posted some sample database figures below. My databases have no modules, currently. I hope to take a VB class within a year, so that may change. AG: 6 Forms, 12 Macros, 18 Queries, 25 Reports, 4...

    exclude multiple values in query

I tried looking up Exclude data, but did not find what I need. I need to exclude pieces of equipment where the model equals snowmobile, or starts with atv or has the word trailer in it. Here is the query that I have created. Why doesn't it work? :( SELECT tblADMEQUIP.MODEL FROM tblADMEQUIP...

    Access 2000 to XP

I have several Access 2000 databases. I just tested them on XP, with no problems. My advice would be to do what we did here: put a copy of the database on the machine with XP, and test each one before you go 'live' on XP.

    Making applications look great!

application suggestions 1. I use the switchboard. So, when I run out of room for more options, I group things together, like reports. Or, kind of reports. Sometimes, I group all of the 'background' forms together. 2. I use color backgrounds on forms, but I choose light colors. So, when...

    Maximize Access Window

autoexec I picked this up from this forum. I create a macro and call it AUTOEXEC. In the macro, I have only a few lines. Open Form Switchboard Maximize I don't put anything in Tools, Startup, cause Access runs this macro when I open the database. Of course, if I needed to set any...
