First Time Use....form will be blank

Okay...I'm trying to cover all pitfalls or possible complaints that I could receive when launching this new database. From the switchboard the clients can enter the master form in add or edit mode, BUT If for some reason they click on Edit an Existing Form before clicking on Add a New Form...

    Conditional Removal from another statement

Okay... I have a field that Checks whether or not a certain situation needs evaluation. If the evaluation is not needed, then the related DATE field becomes irrelevant, so DATE.visible = False blah...blah The problem starts here..... All of the feilds on this one form are relevant to the...

    Group Sorting

I know that this might not be what you want to here...but have you thought about assigning a numeric value to R, Y, and G! I had to do that once. The user would select...and see Red, Amber, and Green, but I actually reported numbers. The reports would display values, but sort on numbers! Or...

    Queries to return 0 ????

Just a shot in the dark, but if you're running all of these queies through code...isn't there a way to check if IsNull([Queries]![NameQuery]![countfield]) Then and either have the query bypass that table OR set the default of the fields in the FINAL COUNT query report to zero

    User Feedback

I provided my users with a command button that opens a simple form. The form has 4 columns: Subject/Screen; Comment; Retionale; Suggestions At that bottom of the form is an exit button (so that they can continue referring to the database) and then a "Send Comments" which performs a...

    Encrypting SendObject

I was just going to use the encryption through Outlook, which will allow the users to certify and sign the SendObject, using our PKI system. I guess possibly the better question would have been to ask if there is a command line that will allow me to select encryption in MS Outlook! Or I...

    afterupdate question

Seems pretty simple...do you have a raw barebones version that you could post? I guess I'm not understanding why you are not able to use the autofill feature of your combobox? DO you have special constraints that are preventing it? PS....is it just a matter of needing to REFRESH the form?

Select from a List Box (Access 2K)

Okay...fairly simple.... First....when you create the list box you can select the third option which allows you to autofill a form or subform with records based upon your selection Or Use the selection in your list box to provide the criteria for a query that will be the record source of the...

    Encrypting SendObject

Okay....my database works in a decentralized fashion. I don't want to make the data accessible over the internet and unfortunately not all of your remote offices have access to our intranet, so....data from the remote lacations is transferred via SendObject, table, xls format. Problem is...

    Mouse Pointer Question

Abby, how does the PointerM(PathToIcon) Can it be used as it is in MS products where you press the "?"(help) button and the mouse changes to a pointer...then changes back when you click on a field. I want to be able to provide this functionality. 'Click on Question mark...

Open a form with a filter

Why don't you just run a query off the two linked tables.....and in the userID criteria use [Enter the user ID that you wish to view] Or if you only want a certain userID...fill that in the criteria Or use a combo box to autofill the form and/or subform!

    Need additional Event Solution

Okay....I'm trying to provide refferencial data for my clients that will provide a description of the fields that they are filling in. How to give an Expression a Criteria

I think it's because of order of operations. You queries is trying to find out all of the limitations so that it can define what records match the criteria. You're trying to impose criteria on an aggregate expression which has not yet determined it's values. I can't tell you how to fix it...

GHudson, Oh...I thought that I said THANK YOU! I figured it out. It worked. I hadn't thought about using the unbound text box to set a value and have the form check for it. All went well:) No more problems;) :D
