Annnnd, I will walk 500 miles....

I'm thinking for now I'm going to invest in a good-quality pedometer since I can't afford a GPS one. Even if it just measures steps, I can still set goals about how many I want to try to reach in a day, etc. I have no one I work with though that I can really get to do it with me. :(

Annnnd, I will walk 500 miles....

I've looked at the GPS ones but I don't have that kind of change to plunk down at the moment. :(

You know it's nearly christmas when ...

Col goes off on another rant about how Jesus wasn't born on December 25th and the Christians stole a pagan holiday.

For those in the Southern Hemisphere...

I saw it. I didn't even know what I was looking at but I knew it was unusual. My husband noticed it too and looked it up when he got home and told me what it was. I'm glad it wasn't overcast here. It usually is when interesting things are happening, like meteor showers.

Well, that would describe Mayor Taylor.

Annnnd, I will walk 500 miles....

I had to laugh when I saw the title of this thread, I haven't heard that song in ages. Our Mayor is doing something similar for our city. I've signed up but of course I haven't contributed yet. So hard to find time. Although, if I got a pedometer and wore it around while at work the miles...

:( I know, my stepmom just passed away a few weeks ago so I had to have "the talk" with Emily for the first time. My poor Dad has buried 2 wives now because of cancer. He says he isn't getting married again and I guess I don't blame him.

    Happy Thanksgiving

I know, I wasn't being "PC" with my comment. I almost erased it and typed Native Americans instead, but then decided screw it. :D

Sometimes, unfortunately you're right. But life can also be what you make of it, if I may be hopelessly optimistic.

Thanks. It is coming with one game but I had considered buying another one, just to have some different things to try out, plus to have something that we can play with/in front of the kiddos. Ugh. We have that already. It's called life. Not much escapism there. :D Speaking of which, it...

Some of them do look fun, I'll have to do some checking. I'm in absolute agreement with you here. We don't have loaded guns either. We have one that is currently unloaded. It is just too much of a risk to have one loaded with the little ones about. We do have a monitored alarm system and...

    Happy Thanksgiving

It doesn't relate to Christmas, other than the fact that everyone considers Thanksgiving to be the beginning of the Christmas season. And also the Christmas shopping season, which is why the Friday after Thanksgiving is known as "Black Friday" because merchants expect to make huge amounts of...

You can get over yourself any time. Asking for someone's opinion on good games for PS3 was not an invitation for you to express your opinion, yet again, on how terrible American society is so I may as well let my kids play shoot-em-up games to practice for later life. By the way, I thought you...

    Playstation 3 Games

Thanks chergh. Hadn't heard of the Orange Box. We played Half-Life on the PC years ago but never got HL2. I'll definitely check that one out. Sad that a question about games for the PS3 has to turn into the same drivel that's posted on every other thread in the non-access part of the forums.

Thanks, guys. I looked up a couple of games mentioned here and on the other thread just to get some ideas. Ideally, we'll have something that he can play while the kids are still up, and something he can play after they are in bed.

What's the best/worst video game of all time?

You could probably use that same analogy on many games though. If you're going to get really nitpicky, there is hardly anything original out there at all. I, for one, am happy to play something new with updated graphics. :)

    What's Happening

Wow, that's a lot to deal with anyway, much less in a 3 week period. Hopefully things will have no choice but to go up from here. Glad no one was injured in her wreck(s).

    Playstation 3 Games

So, after my last post in the other thread about not having a new PC or anyplace to put a PC at the moment, I've bought my hubby a PS3 for Christmas that can double as a Blu-ray player. I read the other thread about favorite PS3 games, but I thought I would start up a new one so I could see...

What's the best/worst video game of all time?

Haven't had time, money, or a PC new enough to play games on in ages, but back in another lifetime I really enjoyed these: Half-Life (never got to play HL2) Unreal (first one) Quake series Doom series Diablo II LOD Hubby liked Max Payne but I never got to play it. That was about the most...
