    are your combo values stored in a table? if so, you might try adding a number column, then have your query use the number column as the basis for the "between" - otherwise how does Access know what order the shifts come in... just a thought--hope it helps! :) Sham

    thanks for the v swift reply kodo but that didn't work for me. however, i DID solve it - and using the Linked Table Manager too! selected all "problem" tables, check "always prompt for new location", when dialogue comes up enter the UNC path to mdb file and hit "OK". never thought it'd work...
